Our Love Life [ A Katy Perry and John Mayer Fanfic ]

Chapter 21

Katy's P.O.V

I get in bed next to the girls not caring about what John is up to. Although I know it'll probably be something crazy.

Just as I was about to close my eyes and get some rest I felt a small body crawl on top of me. "Grace honey whats wrong" I ask looking at her as I  could see her struggling to sleep

" I can't sleep mommy. I don't even want to" she says

" why's that" I say

" That man mommy he could show up any time. He told me he'll be back soon and I don't want him to take me away from you or daddy that means i'll never see you again" she says which makes me sigh out loud

" I'll be there for you every single step of the way and if he takes you away from me I will find you. Trust me nothing could take you away from me I'll do everything I can to protect you, what happened today was my mistake I'm sorry I left you with them " I say as I embrace her in a hug "you aren't thinking of sleeping on top of me right" She replies with a giggle and closes her eyes tight meaning she will sleep on top of me... " as long as you feel safe then I'm fine with this" I say as I wrap my arms around her but can't possibly sleep, still wondering where John is and what he's doing.

Johns P.O.V

"DON'T YOU THINK YOU'VE DONE ENOUGH! NOW YOU COME CHASING BACK TRYING TO HURT OUR FAMILY?" I yell in the middle of no where punching Russell

" whatever that is that you call family of yours, its mine or it will be"  he laughs which just makes me get even more pissed. A couple more punches and he was just on the floor

With that done I walk all the way back to the hotel and I sure quite am far, but now I've got to go deal with Shannon and Tamra to see what the heck happened

20 minutes later

I get the hotel but decide to just make sure Katy's fine and deal with Shannon and Tamra tomorrow. Once I get to our room I could hear Faith crying which means Katys awake... 2 a.m... when does she ever even rest

I enter the room and just as I guessed Katy had Faith in  her arms making her quiet down but she was facing the other direction and didn't realize i was here. I walked up from behind and wrapped my arms around her which made her jump " its just me" I say " oh john you scared me" she says as she turns around and punches me on my chest

" oh god what happened to your eye?" she asks

" oh, nothing,  just got punched" I say

" you fought with him didn't you? John you didn't have to just lay down i'll get you an ice patch" she says " stop worrying about me, you need to rest' I say as I put Faith downing the crib and give Katy a quick peck on the lips before carrying her bridal style to bed.

We both get in the covers with Grace and Hope in between us, Katy almost immediately sleeps and  Grace wakes up.

"Daddy?' she rubs her eyes "why are you away from mommy? did you two have a fight?" Typical 5 year old asking all these questions

" no Grace, go back to bed baby" I say but she shakes her head and gets up and starts pulling me towards Katy "be careful don't trip on Hope" with that she moves Hope away and still tries to pull me next to Katy. Now I know she won't sleep till I'm next to Katy. I quietly get up and put Hope in the crib Faith is in and go back to bed. " Grace you're gonna have to sleep in between us" she shakes her head " what are you up to?" I ask "I'm gonna sleep on mommy!' she says and before i could say a word she jumps on top of Katy snuggling into her, but i guess she's just in a deep sleep cause she didn't move a single bit.

Katys P.O.V

This whole time I was just listening, still am.

I suddenly feel Grace move away which worries me so I shoot my eyes open just as she drops back on me.

"Daddy" she sighs

"yeah" he says back

"What if mommy's not always here for me. I don't know what to do without her and what if mommy doesn't like me some day. I love her so much" she tightly wraps her arms around me and i kiss her forehead as she shoots her head up staring at me as I open my eyes

"I'll always be there for you, every step of the way. With me no one would ever dare to hurt you. Baby you know how daddy and I work and things aren't easy for you and us too but I  promise we'll make things work" I whisper into her ear after realizing Johns ignoring her cause he's asleep and snoring

" you mean you're going back to work?" she frowns

"yeah" I sigh "but this time you're coming with me and daddy is coming with us but your sisters will be with grandma and grandpa"

" you mean I won't see them for long?"

"no Grace thats not how it'll work. Honey ask me all your questions tomorrow I'm so tired you also need to get some rest"

"sorry mommy" she kisses my cheek and I kiss hers and we snuggle together and actually get some rest after this awful day.

The next morning

I wake up and check my phone, its only 9 a.m and it sounds like everyones still asleep.

It feels like someone just hit me with a stone. Grace has her head still laying on me.

" Grace get up we're leaving. Alone."

What am I thinking, I pause.
