Chapter 13

Katy's P.O.V

I smile at what John has told me and close my phone

" what's up " Shannon asks

" johns on his way"

" oh great. I'll leave once he gets here ok?"

" ok but just head to my place"

" why? He's back"

" yeah but I just don't know. weren't not working well and I definitely need help"

Johns P.O.V

After that call from Katy I head straight to the hospital

Things are starting to feel weird when I'm around her we're not the John and Katy we used to be before

I drive and turn the radio on to try and avoid all the thoughts that come to mind. she's due in October which is next month and I have to be around her plus I missed my daughters first day of school

I park in the hospital and walk the halls and ask where Grace Mayer is and I make my way to her room.

I knock on the door and open it and I see Katy laying down next to Grace in bed and Shannon who doesn't know that I'm here

" hello"

"Oh John hey" Shannon says

Katy gets up

" John?"

I walk up to her and hug her " I'm sorry for what happened I can't leave you guys and I won't ever leave you guys I love you"

" I'm gonna leave bye Kate, bye John"

" bye Shan see you later" Katy says and I just smile

Shannon leaves and closes the door

" do you know what happened? Did she tell you?"

" no she's been crying when we got her and just sleeping I'll ask her some questions when she wakes up but do you think it's him..."

" Just to make sure who it is, I need to make a phone call"

I take my phone out my pocket and call officer Tate and luckily I still have his number

" Hello officer Tate speaking"

" hello it's John, John Mayer"

" oh Mr.Mayer have you heard about the news"

" what news? But all I could tell you is that someone hurt my daughter at school and basically kidnapped her but we do not know who it is"

" oh I'm sorry to tell you but I'm a hundred percent sure that it is Russell, he's been released a couple weeks ago"

" I'm sure there's something you could do though"

" yes for sure, we'll be looking for him and he will be back in prison for some time because it's not the first time he has done this. You have nothing to worry but just make sure your family is safe around"

" thank you" I hang up

I sit next to Katy and sigh

" it was him" I say

" uhh" a tear slips down her cheek and I wipe it

" you've got nothing to worry about" I say and she smiles

" John let's just forget what happened that night and start a new chapter and a new life" she says without giving any eye contact

I don't reply and just passionately kiss her assuming she knows the answer is yes
