Chapter 17

Katy's P.O.V

The next day

I wake up and the rooms empty. I look to my right and Shannon's there asleep with Grace who's also sleeping on her lap.

" Grace! Grace, come here baby"

She wakes up then walks over to the bed and stretches her arms out for me to carry her to the bed.

She sits on my lap and smiles.

" what's up with you? Smiling huh" I say and she giggles " where's daddy?" I ask her

" he took Hope to see Faith!" she says

" and why didn't you go?"

" I wanna see you mommy" she says in the cutest way ever

" aw baby, I love you. you know that I do right "

" aha but why are you always with Hope? Does that mean I won't get to spend time with you anymore?" She says as she frowns and hugs me

" Grace your sisters are just young. you have to help me with the two of them and be a big girl ok? Honey I love all of you equally" I say as I give her a kiss on her cheek

" I love you mommy"

" I love you more, now tell me who did your piggy tails cause they aren't equal! "

" daddy did!!"

" oh that's why. sit in front of me so I could do them"

" since when were you two awake" Shannon says

" just a couple minutes ago. Uh hey could you go get John he's somewhere around here"

" sure I'll be back in a bit!"

I get done with Graces hair and just minutes later Shannon comes back in with John and Hope who ran into the room and ends up falling on her face and of course she starts crying.

" gosh John you should've held her hand!"

" mama!!" She screams then John carries her to me and I lay her on my lap till she falls asleep.

" I'll give you two some time together. Grace come with me, we'll get some ice cream" Shannon says as she helps Grace down the bed and they walk out

" so, are you up for the trip? Just me and you" I start off

" yeah and we could hopefully fix things. where would you like to go" he asks me

" I was thinking maybe DisneyLand. it'll be different when it's just the two of us"

" yeah I'll get things ready. when are you released from here"

" first thing tomorrow."

" ok we'll catch a flight next week "

" John wait, actually I'm not really sure about this. I don't wanna leave Grace and Hope here. It's not a trust issue but what if something happened to them"

" Katy they'll be just fine" he says and I shake my head in disagreement " ok then I guess they'll be come with us" he pauses for a moment " or Shannon and Tamra could come with the kids and we'll go our own ways there"
" yeah that sounds better, could you hold Hope for a second I'm gonna go get Shannon"

" no no stay right here I'll go get here. where'd she say they're going?"

" to get some ice cream "

" oh it's close I could just go get them" he says as he gets up and walks out the door

I look down at Hope and she's awake so I start to tickle her and make her laugh till they come back and minutes later they all come back.

" Grace! How dare you not get me any ice cream!" I tell Grace as she walks up to me with a ice cream cone with cotton candy ice cream in it

" I'll go get you some!!" She says and walks to the door

" no no no come back I was just kidding. come here" she walks over to me and sits next to me

" when are you coming home" she asks me

" tomorrow actually"

" yay! Can we have a movie night?"

" maybe some other day"

Shannon was texting on her phone just almost the whole time John was just staring at us.

" oh Shannon I forgot to ask, close your ears Grace"

" but I wanna listen!"

" you'll find out later" I say as she covers her ears with her hands

" I was wondering if you could come with us on our trip so we could all go and I wouldn't have to feel worried about the girls and you know when Grace starts crying and things and if you need help my assistant Tamra will be with you. you up to it?"

" sure! But where have you guys planned on going"

" Paris to DisneyLand though we're keeping it a surprise" John tells her

" oh cool! I'm going!" She says then I remove Graces hands from her ear

" what did you hear"

" nothing!" She says

" mhm you sure you didn't hear anything" I ask again and she nods

John checks the time " it's getting late I think we better head home!" He says as he gets up

" daddy no I wanna stay with mommy"

" come on girl you'll see her tomorrow" he says

" oh come on John I'm leaving tomorrow anyways and one night won't bother. why don't you take Hope "

" okay then" he bends down and kisses my forehead " I'm sorry" he says and I smile.
