CHAPTER FOURTEEN

So when Luca and I go back downstairs, I can't help feeling a little more relaxed. It's with knowing they're okay, with this.

"Oh yeah, we'll be leaving soon Mum. We've been invited to Hale's Birthday party." Nathan said as I sit back down by his side, and this is when I remember I can't go. I tell him this too and as expected he asks me why.

"Nath, I have Luca."
Not to mention that I don't have that kind of money I can't just take money out just for nights out drinking. My baby needs that money I need that money to pay bills and food.

"Well, could your mum not watch him for a couple of hours? I-I'd really like to take you. Plus, it's at their place so you won't have to spend any money you just need to bring your beautiful self."

I shook my head, needing him to hear me. I mean, I'm disappointed that I can't go I'd love to go but I have to be smart here.

"I-I'm sorry Nathan but I-"
I'm about to tell him I can't go again, but Dawn shocked me when she says, they'll watch him.
"Oh no, honestly Dawn, that's so kind of you, but... Well, I mean, no disrespect. But he's only just kinda met you, and well-"

"Mummy, peeease tan I stay? I promise I'll be good."
My eyes go wide as I look over to Luca. He wants to stay? But he never wants to leave me. I mean, sure he kinda knows Leo, but he never wants to leave me. Hell, he doesn't even sleep at my mum's place.

"Baby, you won't settle. You know you don't."
I'm trying to tell him he'll only cry for me, but he pleaded, begging to stay. I'm chewing on my lip feeling really unsure. I mean, he's bound to cry for me. However, I'm really surprised to see he's looking pretty eager to stay here.

"I-I don't know Luca."
Oh God, he's giving me the puppy-dog eyes now.
"He'll be fine sweets. I promise if he calls for you then we'll bring him straight home. Plus Rosie is here. So he'll have her to keep him entertained. And we have loads of DVDs and games too so he won't get bored. Oh, and Linc-Junior will be here soon."
Again, I'm looking at Luca.
"Baby, are you sure?"
As soon as I say this, he's up and out of his seat. He also thanked me, after telling me, he really wants to stay.
"Darcy, baby, he'll be fine. Trust me."

Now I'm looking at Nath, and I see he truly wants this. See... this is where I place my trust in his words and stupidly I might add. Oh, Luca, was fine he was completely fine. No, it was me. I'm the one who'd placed my trust in his words. The words he told me when he said, he was ready for me.

We went back to my place to get washed and changed. I also gathered up a few things for Luca's stay at Nathan's parent's place. Everything was going great. Luca was happy to be staying with Dawn and Leo, and I was nervous as hell. You know about leaving Luca, there overnight. To be honest, I was tempted to pick him up to take him home. Of course, I didn't want to disturb him, especially if he was sleeping.
Anyway, not only was I nervous about leaving him there but I was also nervous about meeting his sister. You know Jenna. Well, when it finally happened, she wasn't as welcoming as his parents were. Oh no, she basically laid out her demands of me not hurting her brother. Of course, I'd assured her I'd never hurt him not intentionally anyway. Yet I wish I could say the same for him.

"Hey," I hear a voice say. I know who it is already just by his accent but still, I turn my head to find Zeal. He's Jenna's partner and as he takes a seat next to me I take a drink of my wine. Really needing it since having a little chat with Jenna. Obviously, I return his greeting though.

"Don't let Jenna get to you. She's just a concerned big sister."
When he said this, I don't look at him. I'm too busy watching for Nath, to return. He'd been having it out with her in the kitchen all the while they're doing that I'm outside on the patio. I'm just sitting on one of Hale's patio chairs on my own. Well, I was until now.
