Chapter 10

5 months of pregnancy

Vegas, Pete and Macau had come to visit Pete's grandma and stayed there for a few days. On seeing Vegas and Macau for the first time, Pete's grandma was really happy. As Macau had school and was only free in the weekend, he had already left the place. Pete's baby bump had now grown even bigger and Pete needed help in most of the things. Even a doctor had come with them to the island as Pete was pregnant and needed constant care and attention. Currently, both Vegas and Pete were sitting by the beach and both of them were watching the sunset. As Pete was pregnant, Vegas insisted that Pete sit on his lap. It was evening anyway and as Macau had left in the afternoon, both Vegas and Pete wanted to come and enjoy some time together at the beach.

Pete: "Vegas, what do you think about the baby? How will it look like? Me, you or both of us?"

Vegas: "I don't know Pete. It's hard to tell about what the baby will look like. But I'm sure it'll mostly look as handsome as you and it'll also have your qualities of being kind and loving."

Pete blushed at the statement made by Vegas but he tried to hide it. Vegas made him have butterflies in his stomach at times like these. He turned his face away immediately and Vegas started laughing at Pete's actions.

Vegas: "Are you blushing baby? You get flustered so easily. Turn this side baby, I want to see your flustered face."

Pete: "Stop it Vegas! You're making me blush even more. Ugh! I get shy for no reason!"

Vegas: "But you look cute when you're flustered Pete. I love the look you have on your face right now."

After they were done bickering for a while, they got up and went towards their house as it was getting late and dark at the same time. As they went inside, Pete's grandma called them for dinner. All of them sat at the dining table and ate their dinner silently. Halfway through, Pete didn't feel like eating anymore so he went upstairs to his and Vegas's bedroom. As soon as Pete was out of their view, Pete's grandma started talking to Vegas.

Pete's grandma: "Vegas, please take care of Pete very well. At times like these, he especially tends to become very insecure about his body. Make sure that it doesn't happen."

Vegas: "Yaai, please don't worry about him. During these 9 months, Pete is my topmost priority and nothing else matters. I will make sure that-"

Vegas was stopped mid-sentence when he heard a loud scream coming from the upstairs bedroom. Both Vegas and yaai rushed upstairs and saw Pete lying on the floor. Both of them rushed towards Pete and Vegas called for the doctor.

Vegas: "Pete!!! What happened to you? How did you fall on the floor?"

Pete: "There was water on the floor Vegas. I didn't see that and then I slipped suddenly."

Vegas immediately helped Pete to stand up and took him to the room. At the same time, even the doctor arrived to check up on Pete. The doctor checked Pete's condition and then met Vegas. (the doctor is skilled in what he does y'all)

Doctor: "Khun Vegas, you don't have to worry. Pete is doing absolutely fine. Even the child is doing good. Even though he needs to rest for sometime, you can go in."

Vegas: "Thank you, Doctor. I will make sure that he gets proper rest."

The doctor went back to his room and Vegas was left alone with Pete. Even Pete's grandma had gone to sleep as it was already getting late. Vegas decided to stay up for a while reading a book since he hadn't had the time to read his book for a very long time now.

Sometime during the midnight, Pete woke up to go to the bathroom. As he was waking up, he could see Vegas who had dozed off with the book on his face. Pete thought Vegas looked cute like this. He decided to take a photo of Vegas like this so that he could tease Vegas later on. He took his phone which was kept on the bedside table, clicked a photo of Vegas and giggled at the sight. Vegas was woken up by the giggling sound and as soon as he saw the phone in Pete's hand, he sat up properly and tried to grab the phone from Pete's hand. When this didn't work, Vegas start tickling Pete and Pete was laughing breathlessly.

Pete: "Vegas, stop it. I can't breathe. Please stop!!!"

Vegas: "Delete that photo of mine first. Otherwise I'll keep tickling you."

Pete immediately took the phone and pretended to delete the photo. Vegas immediately stopped tickling Pete and grabbed him to make him sit on his lap.

Vegas: "Pete, I'm so sorry for what happened to you today. I should have been more careful of you. I will even better care of you from now."

Pete : "Vegas, please don't blame yourself, okay? It was my mistake, not yours. I should have been more careful in taking care of myself. It's not your fault at all, my love."

Pete gently stroked Vegas's head and they both sat like that for a while. Gradually both of them felt sleepy so they changed their positions and went to bed. Vegas hugged Pete and both of them slept very well that day.

Every day passed by very quickly and before they knew, both Vegas and Pete had to go back to their own place. They bid goodbye to grandma and left for their place. On their way back, Pete and Vegas were sitting together and were enjoying the view they saw. In no time, they had arrived and as they did, they got into a car that was especially waiting for them. They went back home and got into their daily routine of meetings, duties and responsibilities. Life was going very well for both of them. It's almost as if this is the life that both Vegas and Pete had asked for. They were truly happy with what they had currently. Life couldn't be any better for them.
