Chapter 16

Christmas Day

(I don't know much about what happens on Christmas. Excuse me for any mistakes)

It was the morning of Christmas. Vegas, Pete and Macau had already woken up while Venice and Florence were still asleep. All three of them had freshened up. While Vegas and Macau were given the responsibility of decorating the whole house, Pete was busy with baking gingerbread and other special delicacies. By 9.00 that morning, all the three of them were done with their work and now it was time for Pete to wake up the children. But, for a moment all three of them stopped to see the decorations in the living room.

Vegas: "I've never seen this house with so much decorations. It looks so good, don't you both agree?"

Macau: "Yes, Hia. I've never seen the house decorated like this. It looks really beautiful."

Pete: "I agree with you two. From now on, we'll do this every year and keep up the spirit. But for now, I'm going to go and wake up the kids."

While Pete went upstairs to wake up the children, both Vegas and Macau were busy with getting all the presents from Vegas's office to the living room. Also, the day was special for Vegas because he was going to ask Pete, the love of his life, to marry him.

The day went by quickly and as evening approached, Vegas, Pete and Macau were getting ready to open the presents. Vegas was planning to propose to Pete after all they had unwrapped all the presents.

Time skip....

It was evening and now it was time to unwrap the presents that were on the table in the living room. Since it was Venice's and Florence's first Christmas as very little children, Vegas and Pete decided to unwrap both of their presents themselves. Along with the proposal for Pete, Vegas had also prepared a special gift for Pete. Macau had been waiting near the table for a long time and now he was getting impatient.

Macau: "Hia, P'Pete, where are you both? I'm sitting here since a very long time."

Pete: "We're coming Macau! Two more minutes!!"

Finally, after two minutes, both Vegas and Pete, with Venice and Florence, emerged from their shared room. Both of them sat down next to Macau and get ready to open the presents.

Macau: "P'Pete, what took you both so long? Were you both doing 'activities' again?"

Pete: "No!! Obviously not! Your brother almost fell when he was coming out of the bathroom and he scratched his hand. So the delay."

Macau: "Hia, are you okay?"

Vegas: "Yes, Macau. I'm totally fine. It's just a small scratch."

Macau: "Anyway, let's unwrap the presents already!!!"

It was night time. The whole evening was spent in unwrapping the presents. Macau had gone to his room to call his friends. Now, as both the children were already asleep, Vegas and Pete had time to themselves. Vegas knew that now was the time to propose to Pete.

Vegas:" Pete, can we go out now? I want some fresh air."

Pete: "Now? It's night time, Vegas. I can't leave the kids alone as they're sleeping."

Vegas: "Come on, Pete. I already asked Macau if he could take care of them and he agreed to it. Now come on, off we go."

Before Pete could say anything, Vegas was already taking him by the hand outside. The went to the garage, put on their helmets and left for the roads on Vegas's bike.

After driving for a while, both of them arrived at a park. As they were getting off the bike, Vegas asked Pete to wear the blindfold.

Pete: "Why should I wear a blindfold?

Vegas: "Just do as I say. Don't worry. I'll be here itself to guide you inside."

As instructed by Vegas, Pete tied the blindfold around his eyes with Vegas's help. After he was done, Vegas held Pete's hand slowly led him towards the park. They walked for a few minutes and after almost 5-7 minutes of walking, they arrived at the center of the park. Before Pete could remove his blindfold, Vegas, with the ring box in his hand, got down on one knee.

Vegas: "You can remove the blindfold now, Pete."

After Pete had removed the blindfold from his eyes, he took a look around the park. There were candles lit all around the park. When he finally looked at Vegas, he was taken aback by happiness.

Pete: "Vegas!!! What are you doing?"

Vegas: "Pete, I want to convey my feelings to you. Since you've come into my life, I've always felt at ease. Especially in the safehouse. You have a beautiful smile and everyone falls in love with that. You've kept our family together and it's strong because of you. I'm strong because of you and your love. Not to mention about how you take care for each one of us, especially the children. I never thought I could fall in love and start a family. But I was wrong. You made me fall in love with you and see, we even have kids. I thank you for everything you've done and on that note, I want to ask you something that will change our lives. Pete Phongsakorn Saengtham, will you marry Vegas Kornwit Theerapanyakhun?"

Pete: "Yes!! I will marry you Vegas!! I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with you!!"

When Vegas heard Pete say yes to his proposal, he was beaming with joy. He got up and both of them exchanged the rings. After that was done, they shared a long deep kiss with each other. After what seemed liked eternity, they pulled away from each other due to the shortage of breath.

Vegas: "Pete, I promise to take care of you for the rest of my life. I will never make you sad or cry again. You're the most important person in my life. I love you, Pete."

Pete: "I love you too, Vegas. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

Vegas: "So, as we're getting married, where do you want our marriage to take place? The choice is yours."

Pete: "Hmm, can we get married at my grandma's place l, on the island? It's where I spent most of my life as I could remember and I would love it if we got married there."

Vegas: "Alright. If that makes you happy, ee'll get married there. If you're happy, I'm happy."

Pete: "Now, if you don't mind, can we go back home? I'm feeling really sleepy. I might fall asleep here if we don't go back."

Twenty minutes later, both of them reached their house. As they entered the house, both of them went straight to their bedroom and fell asleep.
