Vegas Pete- forever partners

Chapter 14

A few months later

Venice was now 7 months old and he  was the light of Vegas's and Pete's life. Pete had become pregnant again (Pete liked kids so he wanted one more and Vegas agreed 😂😂) and had already delivered their second child. It was a girl so both of them named her as Florence. Florence looked similar to Pete and she was a cute little baby girl. Unlike Venice, Florence rarely cried and she always smiled a lot. A party was hosted in the minor family house to celebrate the birth of both Venice and Florence. Florence got along with everyone but Venice was the total opposite. Whenever he saw someone unfamiliar, he would start crying and either Vegas or Pete had to come and take him with them. Fatherhood completely changed Vegas for the better and he would take two days off every week to spend time with his family. This week however, he could not take two days leave as there he had a meeting with some important clients at the major family house. Currently, Vegas had finished eating his breakfast and was getting ready to go the major family's house to attend the meeting. He decided to drop Macau to school on his way.

Vegas: "Pete,you're still being grumpy? I already told you numerous times. This meeting is very important and I can't miss it. But I promise that I'll come back home early and spend time with you and the kids."

Pete: "You yourself told that you'll come back home early. If you don't, then you'll sleep on the couch for the next one week!! Hmph!"

Vegas: "You know what? You're so cute when you're angry. Can I kiss you before I leave?"

Pete: "No, you can't. You're getting late already. You even have to drop Macau to school. Get going now."

Vegas: "Okay wifey. But when I come back in the evening, I'll get my reward hehe."

Macau: "Hia, can you stop it already? I'm getting late for school and so are you getting late for the meeting. Can we leave?"

Vegas: "Sure sure. Goodbye wifey!! Florence, Venice, wait for Dada okay? I'll be back in the evening and we'll play together."

Vegas gave a light peck on Pete's lips and he kissed his children's cheeks. After he and Macau had said goodbye to Pete and the kids, they got into the car and left the house. After they left the house, Pete decided to do some left out household chores, but first, he had to put both his children to sleep. After Pete was done putting both of them to sleep, he headed towards the kitchen and finished the left out chores. After finis the chores, he spent some time for himself-he watched the TV for a few hours, went out for a walk and then wrote down his thoughts in his diary. Time passed by- in the afternoon he fed the babies and he himself ate something, took a nap and evening came gradually. It was 6 pm now and Vegas was supposed to be back by this time. Since Vegas wasn't there yet, he called Nop, who had gone with Vegas to the major family's house.

Pete: "Nop, is the meeting over? Vegas hasn't come back yet."

Nop: "Umm, Khun Pete, actually..."

Pete: "What happened Nop? Is Vegas alright? Did he get hurt?"

Nop: "Khun Pete, Khun Vegas told me not to tell you this but it seems like I have to. While the meeting was going on, one of the clients didn't look satisfied with the proposal and he started firing at people. A shooting broke out and Khun Vegas was hurt in that. He's in the hospital right now."

Pete:" What?! Why didn't anyone tell this to me?!"

Nop: "Khun Vegas didn't want you to get worried. That's why he strictly instructed everyone not to tell you about his injury."

Pete: "Which hospital is he in right now? Give me the address. I want to go there."

Nop: "He's admitted in xxx hospital. Do you want me to drive you there, Khun Pete?"

Pete: "Yes please."

After fifteen minutes, Nop arrived at the minor family's house. Pete, with Venice and Florence immediately got inside the car and Nop drove off to the hospital. After half an hour or so, they arrived at the hospital and as the car came to a stop, Pete hurriedly got out of the car and ran towards the entrance. He entered the hospital, asked the receptionist about Vegas's whereabouts and then ran to the room where Vegas was resting (Yes, Pete ran with the babies). When Pete entered the room, he could see that Vegas was sleeping. He put the babies to sleep on the couch and then he took a chair and sat near Vegas's head.

Pete: "Vegas, wake up please. I'm here now. Venice and Florence are here too. You can't leave me."

At the same time, the doctor came in to check up on Vegas and when he saw Pete, the doctor greeted him with a smile.

Doctor: "Hello, Pete. I just came to check how Vegas is doing. Don't worry, it's nothing major. It's just a minor hand fracture. He'll wake up in a few minutes. And yes, I'll give you the list of medicines that Vegas needs to take for his recovery. Please make sure that he takes them on time. I'll take my leave now."

Pete: "Thank you, Doctor."

The doctor gave a smile and then left the room, leaving Pete alone with Vegas. Pete went over to the couch and slept for a while. By the time he woke up, he saw that Vegas was awake and was reading a book. He immediately dashed to Vegas's side and hugged him.

Pete: "Vegas!!! Are you alright?? I was so worried about you that I immediately rushed to the hospital when I heard the news about what happened to you!! How did you get hurt?"

Vegas: "Do you remember that we had a deal with one of the clients from Japan? Well, they weren't satisfied with our proposal so one of them shot a bodyguard and that's how the whole shooting started. I fractured my arm somehow in that incident."

Pete: "Whoever that person is, I'm not going to leave him!!"

Vegas: "Pete, I'm fine now. It's just a minor fracture. I'll be fine in no time. Speaking of which, what are the kids doing here?"

Pete: "I couldn't leave them anywhere and I didn't want to leave them at the main family's house either. So I took them here with me."

Vegas: "Can you bring them here, closer to me?"

Upon Vegas's request, Pete picked up both the children from the couch and made them sit on the bed with Vegas. As both of the children didn't know what was happening, they were in their own world- Florence was curiously looking around and Venice was babbling something. Vegas hugged both of them and kissed them gently on their foreheads.

Vegas: "I love you both so much. Sorry that Dada got hurt but I promise that I'll play with you both as soon as I get well, okay?"

As Vegas was talking to the children, Pete was observing him. He was thinking about how Vegas was changing for the better, how he was trying to be a good father, a good brother and a good boyfriend. Pete felt really happy to have found a boyfriend like Vegas. He prayed that they would stay together for a very long time.
