"Bowie sit" I instruct. He sits nicely and I kneel down putting his harness on him, darla has hers on already. Bowie was not wanting to cooperate. "Babe you ready?" Leon asks carrying our bags down. I nod "yes, did you make sure our passports are in our bags?" I ask.

He stops walking and thinks for a few seconds "yes I did" he answers. "Thank god, we won't have much time to come back to get anything" I reply. "Why did we choose to fly out after the game?" He asks. "It was gabi's idea, she said we'd be in the air when it hits midnight" I answer. "That actually sounds cool" he says.

Our flight is at 10 and the game starts at 5, we're really pushing it with the timing but it's worth the risk, the line for security could be long and the game could go on longer than expected.

We get the dogs in the car and our suitcases in the back then leon starts driving over to zach and alannahs, they're not coming to Paris so they've volunteered to watch them for us.

I look out the window and watch the left over Christmas lights around the city. "When do you want to announce that we're engaged?" Leon asks holding my hand.

The last almost week has been insane, on boxing day we went shopping with my family and then said bye to them the following morning. Leon and I have both had a couple games since. We've just been enjoying the privacy.

"How about before the game" I suggest. "Sounds good to me, just tell me what photos to use" he says before kissing my hand gently.

After he proposed and before my family came over we did a mini photoshoot infront of the tree with the dogs and it turned out adorable.

I open my phone and go on instagram, I choose a few photos and then write caption.

'I said YES! Christmas morning the love of my life asked me to marry him, leon the moment I fell in love with you I just knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you, we've created so many memories together and I can't wait to continue making more, excited to be a draisaitl ;)'

Tagging leon I then quickly post them. At a very long red light leon post the same photos with a much shorter caption.

'She said yes!'

We get to zach and alannahs, bowie and darla going straight to theo and Bennett to get attention. "I saw that you announced it" alannah says. "Yeah it's almost been a week so why not" I shrug. "It was a cute caption" she says. "I had to" I smile.

"You've found your soulmate" she replies. I look at leon talking with zach "I have" I respond with a smile. "It's nice to see you happy" she tells me. I pout and hug her.

A few minutes later we're leaving to the arena. On the way there I check my phone and I have a ton of notifications from Instagram and a few from twitter. Here we go.
