Madison Stone's Point Of View.
I open my locker to put away the books I used in the previous classes while Ashley tells about her dissatisfaction with Ryan for not having asked her to date him yet.
"Why isn't he just like Andrey?" She asks indignantly and I laugh.
"Maybe he's planning something special," I suggest and she denies it.
"Do you know about something I don't?"
"No, but I think you need to relax Ashley. It's clear that he likes you too, so he'll probably ask you to date him at some point." And she nods.
"I hope so." She speaks and I close my locker, immediately starting to walk with her toward the room of our next class. "The girls are coming our way." And I already know who she is talking about, because I see Sarah, Emily and their friends coming towards us.
"Hey girls." Sarah greets us as she comes closer to us, causing us to stop walking and greet her and her friends.
"Hi Sarah. Hi Emily. Hi girls." I greet all of them, who greet me back and Ashley just says a "hi".
"Congrats Madison on your courtship," Sarah speaks up and I and the rest of the girls here strange it.
"Uhm.. thank you, Sarah."
"It's impressive how you had just arrived at school and managed to be his cheerleader..." and she was going to continue talking, but Ashley interrupts her.
"Get over it Sarah."
"I'm talking to Madison, Ashley. But moving on... then you spent the whole dance with him and now you're dating him." She stares at me and I just nod.
"What you wish had happened to you..." and I don't even need to tell who said it, right?
"Yes, we like each other." I speak normally and she looks at me with a debauched face.
"I understand you like him.. he kisses very well." And she just says that and leaves, being accompanied for her friends, minus Emily, and I look at Ashley not believing what I just heard.
"Sarah." Emily calls her friend and then looks at me. "Sorry Madison. She's hurt that you and Andrey are together," and she doesn't even wait for me to answer, she just runs after her friend, leaving me standing with Ashley in the middle of one of the school's hallways.
"What just happened here?" Ashley asks as she follows the girls with her eyes until they are out of her sight.
"Has Andrey ever kissed Sarah?" I ask Ashley, who looks at me like she is lost and doesn't answer me. "Has Andrey ever kissed Sarah, Ashley?" I ask again and she seems to wake up from her thoughts.
"Oh, sorry Mad. It's just that I was shocked by the audacity of that girl. What did you say?"
"I asked you if Andrey ever kissed Sarah."
"At least that I know, one time." And I don't like what I hear.
On the day of the dance I still felt like asking if they had ever had anything after he said he had nothing with her, but I decided not to say anything. Now I see I should have asked, because then I wouldn't have looked as dumb as I probably did when I heard what Sarah said.
"Got it. I didn't know that."
"But I think you should ask to him, Mad." She puts her arm over my shoulder and starts walking, making me walk too.
"I will. But let me ask you.. this one time you said he kissed her wasn't on the day of the dance, was it?"
"No, no.. what make you think that?"
"On that day, when I met him, she was very close to him and when he saw me, he pushed her away."
"Knowing him, if he had really been kissing her or something, he wouldn't have pushed her away when he saw you. If he did that, it's because he wanted to show you that there was nothing between them."
"Yeah.. it can be."
"And by the way, you heard what Emily said. She's upset that you and Andrey are together. So you have to take it easy, because she's going to want to get you in trouble to see if you give up on him. So remember that he likes you and he's with you."
"Yeah, that's right. You're right."
"I always am baby," she says with her unique way of speaking and I laugh.
"You're so cocky," I say jokingly and we walk into the history room.
"Good morning my girls," Alexander says as soon he sees us and Ashley rolls her eyes, causing me to give her waist a pinch, causing her to take her arm from around my shoulder.
"Good morning teacher," Ashley says falsely and goes subtly pushing me to the back of the room.
"Why did you push me away? I didn't even answer the teacher. He'll think I'm rude," I say as we sit next to each other at the second-to-last pair of desks of the row on the left side of the room.
"Let him think whatever he wants. Seriously Mad, I'm starting to disgust this teacher," she says, and I suspect why, because I'm in the same situation.
"Me too. It disgusts me these little nicknames he uses with his students."
"Yes. And Andrey told me what happened to you on the day of the dance, so I think we'd better keep our distance from him."
"Yeah, you're right." I say and look ahead as the teacher gets up from his chair and stops in front of the board, hoping to get the attention of all the students present.
"My pretty boys and girls, pick up your books and open to page 37 please," the teacher speaks and Ashley and I look at each other in disgust because of the nicknames he uses, but then we do what he asked.
We take the book and open it on the page he asked for, then he reads the text on the page, explains the subject and gives us an activity on the next page to do.
"What's up girls? Do you have any questions?" Alexander stops in the middle of the two of us and we deny it.
"No, no. Thank you, teacher," Ashley says and he agrees.
"Okay.." and he moves away from us a little, but then comes back and stops in front of my desk. "Madison, I heard that you are dating one of the soccer players on the school team," he speaks and I look at Ashley in surprise, the same one who is looking at the teacher in surprise as well.
"Um.. yes, I am dating Andrey."
"I know." And he gives a quick pause, but soon speaks again. "But be careful. These players only like to use the girls. And after they use them, they throw them away," he says in an extremely disgusting tone and I look at him indignantly in surprise, but I keep my manners.
"I think our relationship is only one of teacher and student, so what happens or stops happening in my personal life is not up to you." And he looks at me chocked, as if it was me who had said something totally disrespectful.
"Calm down Madison. I'm just giving you an advice. You know I care about my students. You know I care about you."
"Okay. Now if you'll excuse us, we have an activity to finish," and I glance again at the book laid on the table, ignoring the presence of the teacher, who leaves clumsily.
"I'm dead on what just happened," Ashley says and I look at her.
"I just want this fucking class to be over."
