Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

October 21, 2022.

Madison Stone's Point Of View.

I open my eyes and look around, seeing Andrey, his mother, and my mother talking. I also see that I am lying on a bed in the hospital room.

"She woke up!" Andrey says and the three of them come close to where I am.

I remember what happened, but I can't cry, scream, or even feel anger. It is as if I am totally anesthetized from any kind of emotion.

"Did you let them give me soothing?" I look at the needle that is attached to me.

"You were out of your mind, honey," my mother says, and I deny it quietly.

"You had no right. I had the right to suffer for my friend's death."

Flashback On: Two hours ago.

I look to the side and see my mother, Andrey and Mrs. Butler coming towards me.

"Hi my love. How are you?" My mother sits down next to me and hugs me from the side, but I don't return the hug, because I know that if I do it, I will cry on her shoulder like a baby.

"The doctor thinks he..." I take a deep breath. "He is having no brain activity, so they went to run some tests on him," I speak and look at Andrey and his mother, who look at me with pity.

"Everything is going to be okay, honey," Mrs. Butler sits down across from me and I give a small smile.

"I really hope so."

"I met Andrey and his mother in front of our house. When they called me I was coming home and they were getting out of the car to see if you were there. Then I called them to come along with me."

"Got it.." I say without giving too much importance.

"Can I talk to you real quick Mad?" Andrey asks and I stand up.

"If you're going to talk about Sarah taking my call, you don't even have to start," I say as we stop in a corner a little farther away from our mothers.

"I want to explain to you what happened," and I deny it.

"Andrey.."

"What?"

"I don't know if you've noticed but we're not in an appropriate place to talk about this."

"I know. It's just that..." I interrupt him.

"My only concern at this very moment is my friend staying alive," I say as seriously as I can and he agrees, bowing his head.

"I just didn't want you to be mad at me for something I didn't do.."

"We will talk about it later," and I turn around, going back to where I was standing.

I want to talk to him and hear what he has to say, but not right now, because there are more important things going on.

I sit on my mother's right side, since Mrs. Butler sat where I was so they could talk, and Andrey sits across from me, staring at me with a wet dog face.

"Are we.. still together?" He asks and I look at him in the most sincere way possible.

"It depends on what you have to explain to me."

"Got it," he replies, and after that we say no more.

We wait for about two more hours and the doctors along with the nurse leave the room, causing the four of us present to stand up, looking at them curiously and attentively.
