Mario and Luigi check on Daisy, who is examined by E. Gadd, and his sensor doesn't detect any helpful plan to save her.

E. Gadd: It's no use. I'm sorry Mario, Luigi, but I can't help her.

Luigi: Is she dead?

Mario: No, her heart is still beating. She's alive, I know!

E. Gadd: Due to the Nanometal. Horrible technology. See, the metal inside her body is the only thing keeping her alive. Her body is alive, but she won't wake up. She might never.

Luigi: If we return her to the Aratrum, wouldn't the doctors help her?

E. Gadd: No, her brain stopped functioning completely. I'm sorry, but....she's already....

Mario: I-I understand....

Mario lowers his head, tearing up. Luigi also begins tearing up, sitting down, while also comforting Mario. Bowser and Bleck then enter.

Bowser: Oh, there you are, Mario. How is she?

Mario: Bowser....she's.....alive, but she won't wake up.

Bowser: Oh.....i'm.....I'm sorry, Mario. Um, but I kind of have some more bad news.

E. Gadd: What's going on on the ship?

Yoshi: The Central Committee is arguing. I don't think we can retreat now. It's regarding, you, Mario.

Bowser: Yeah. Opinions are split on what to do. The Bilusaludo wants to blame you, since Dolu-Do is in charge. Plus, Grodus was his apprentice.

Mario: Because...because we were so close in defeating Godzilla....and I couldn't..

Bleck: Yes, he would've been defeated. If you chose to work with Grodus, then Godzilla would've been destroyed, but it would've acquired you to abandon us all. Had you chosen to do so, it would've turned you into a monster. Not just physically, but mentally as well.

Luigi: So because Mario is human, we couldn't win? It would make sense on why Grodus said we must throw away our humanity in order to win.

Bleck: Not exactly. Because of Mario's determination on being human....it prevented the birth of a new Godzilla.

Mario: I guess this Godzilla would've been MechaGodzilla, but the only question is....why were me and Luigi saved....and not, (tearfully) Daisy?

E. Gadd: Well, that's because-

Paraplonk: A miracle! Captain, it was a miracle your life was spared.

Mario: What? What are you-?

Paraplonk: Grodus turned his back on God, choosing arrogance instead. Daisy died because she was enticed by him! It's divine punishment!

Mario takes great offense at this, and angrily grabs Paraplonk. Luigi tries to stop him, but Mario blocks him.

Paraplonk: O-Only you and Captain Luigi were protected by a higher power and saved! And you were able to save us! It's a divine blessing! A revelation that the decisions you made were correct!

Goomp and the others agree to this, with Mario lowering Paraplonk down, confused. Bowser and Yoshi look at Bleck, who was watching it.

Bowser: What did you do to them, Bleck?

Bleck: Excuse me?

Bowser: Why are they suddenly acting like you?

Bleck: Everyone sensed it during this recent trial, Bowser. The will of the divine God.

Bowser: Oh, brother.

Paraplonk: I know that we haven't taken God seriously. However, I won't doubt him anymore. Captain, God is watching over us now. And hearing our prayers as we fight Godzilla!

Mario looks away, signaling to all of them to leave.

He sits down, looking at Daisy's Nanometal body.

Mario: Daisy....

Mario then remembers what Grodus said.

"If you want to win, steel your resolve! You'll surpass humanity and Godzilla, AND BECOME SOMETHING GREATER!"

Mario opens his eyes, and begins to break down again.

Mario: (tearfully) But I....couldn't.

Meanwhile, Bleck walks to where the temple is, depressingly looking at the flames, before seeing Miana standing in front of him.

Bleck: Am I bothering you?

Miana: This is Houtua God Temple. To enter, need permission.

Bleck: Ah. Apologies, I didn't know where I was going.

He walks away, while Miana looks at him, suspiciously.

Meanwhile, Bowser was able to retrieve Mario's Fury, which was the only one that didn't explode.

Yoshi: So, Bowser, this was the only Fury you could retrieve?

Bowser: Yeah, but it's still turned off from the emergency stop signal Grodus sent the moment the command center was destroyed. I tried to reset it with some help, but it's not even powering up. It won't even connect to electricity of all things.

Yoshi: Maybe the Nanometal won't let it boot up?

Bowser: Well, if it were, I wouldn't even know how to do it. Why? Crump never explained to me how to get the Nanometal working again, saying I wouldn't understand it. Even if E. Gadd wanted to analyze it, MechaGodzilla City's remains were completely destroyed by the intense heat. Plus, if we tried to find MechaGodzilla's body and it's destroyed.

Yoshi: So, it's useless for now.

Bowser: Yeah.
