Shadow's POV:
Groaning, I woke up from what I had hoped was a nightmare. But, looking into the eyes of Sonic, I could see it was not. Y/N was really in the hospital, and I was afraid she-
No, no, she's fine, she has to be. I can feel it, I thought to myself.
"You alright, Shads? You passed out when I told you what happened," Sonic asked me.
I nodded, planning on seeing her that day. I needed to be sure she was fine. So, pushing past Sonic, I got myself ready for the day. Fixing my messy quills, I grabbed my coat and walked out the door.
"Shadow, wait!" that faker ran up to me, "Where are you going?"
"To see Y/N, is there a problem?"
I raised an eyebrow as I looked upon his slightly confused face.
"To answer your dying question, I have feelings for her, yes. I need to make sure she's fine."
Sonic paused, looking to the side a bit, as if he was hiding something. Confused, I looked at him.
"Follow me."
He walked off towards the park and I followed, only to realize we were walking past the park. It had probably been important if he couldn't talk about it with me in a public setting. Finally, he stopped by a tree, two names carved into it.
"Y/N and Shadow..." I read aloud.
"I didn't know if you knew, and I didn't think just telling you would be enough. But she carved this herself, she told me. She feels the same way about you as you do about her."
"I must see her then. I must tell her, so her feelings are not in vain."
"Room 34, second floor. She'll be happy to see you."
The hospital was nearby, so I had no problem finding the room. Upon finding it, I opened it, holding my breath.
Your POV:
My eyes fluttered open as the door to my room did, too. Standing there, right by my bed, was Shadow. Jinx had left, so I wasn't worried about him picking a fight. But I hadn't expected to see the one I truly love standing right beside me.
"Hello, Y/N," he said.
"H-Hey," I answered.
"Are you...feeling better?"
"Yes, thank you. I-It's nice to see you."
Nodding, he smiled softly at me, sitting on the side of my bed.
"I have come to tell you something."
"Oh? What have you got to say?"
Clearing his throat, he looked away, saying, "I...love you, too. I always have. You are...the most beautiful, kind, wonderful, and enduring person I've met, besides Maria. I hope you know that now."
Face reddening, I looked away, my heart swelling with the possibility of finally being with him.
"Shadow, I...I really want to be with you, but only if you want the same."
"Yes, but what about that annoying rat?"
"Jinx? I mean, he can be annoying, but he helped me. I'm sure he'll accept us being together."
"Good, I don't want to have to rip his head off."
His hand stroking my hair put me back to sleep, having me wish to wake up soon, so I could continue my life, but this time, alongside Shadow as his girlfriend.
