"Arthur!" Vinceno's voice rang out in warning as he rushed to restrain his son, holding him firmly in place. Behind him, Ava hastened towards Anaya, who lay unconscious on the bed. As Ava attempted to examine her, she was repelled by a radiant golden light that enveloped Anaya's body, shining with an intense brilliance that created a protective shield around her.

The royal couple had arrived in response to the loud clamor of shattering objects emanating from Anaya's room. Vinceno had also received word that Arthur had broken free from his restraints and had escaped. The king's intuition told him that something was amiss, and he didn't hesitate to rush to the scene. As he entered the room, the sight before him made his blood run cold, and for a fleeting moment, he was frozen in place.

The air was heavy with tension, and the golden light surrounding Anaya seemed to pulsate with an otherworldly energy. Ava's hands hovered inches from Anaya's body, unable to penetrate the shimmering barrier. Vinceno's grip on Arthur tightened, his eyes fixed intently on the scene unfolding before him.

Arthur whimpered, his eyes fixed on his mate, who lay motionless on the bed. He had no recollection of how he had escaped the cage or broken into her room. "Mate!" he growled, his voice laced with anguish.

As he struggled to free himself from his father's grasp, his desperation grew. He yearned to reach Anaya's side, to ensure she was unharmed. But Vinceno held firm, refusing to release his son.

Ava's gaze shifted to Shali, who was also attempting to approach Anaya, but was repelled by the same unseen force. Despite her own formidable powers, Shali was unable to breach the barrier surrounding Anaya. Ava's expression turned resolute. "We have to call Gemma," she said, her voice low and urgent.

As the last vestiges of his feral state dissipated, Arthur's eyes transformed back to their normal hue. Vinceno, sensing his son's regained control, released his grip on him. Arthur stood frozen, his gaze fixed on Anaya's limp form. A mix of emotions swirled within him as he took in the scene before him.

His eyes widened in horror as he beheld the painful-looking bite on Anaya's neck. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks: he had forced his mark on her. The weight of his actions crushed him. "What have I done...?" he whispered, his voice laced with anguish.

As he watched, the bite began to transform, taking shape as a mate mark. Anaya's body was now forever changed, bearing the symbol of her Alpha mate – Arthur. But this was not how he had envisioned giving his mate her mate mark. The thought filled him with regret and sorrow.

As Arthur attempted to approach Anaya once more, his mother intervened, her voice firm but laced with concern. "Arthur, don't." She grasped his arm, holding him back. Arthur's body trembled, his muscles rigid as he struggled to suppress the turmoil within him. His inner wolf, still reeling from the events that had transpired, threatened to resurface.
