I'm not sure if I got this idea from somewhere or if I just thought of it 🤷 Also I know we don't technically know Sirius' middle name, and many people use Orion as his middle name I chose to do Pollux as his middle name just because I can.

Remus opened his eyes and the first thing he noticed was that he was in the hospital wing at Hogwarts. The next thing he noticed was that he was in a lot of pain. And then he finally noticed how bright it was in the room. Remus looked up and down the room and noticed he was the only occupant. He sat there and tried to remember just how he got here.

*Flashback*

It has been three months since Sirius died. Three months since Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom defeated Lord Voldemort. Three months since Remus lost his mate, his love of his life.

Remus John "Moony" Lupin was back in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. He was just here three ish years ago teaching his two late best friends son, Harry. Harry was a brilliant student. Top of his class when it came to DADA. While Remus loved to be back and reaching, he was miserable. Absolutely Miserable. He missed his mate so much. He felt like dying he missed him so much.

Part of Remus knew he was selfish. That Harry missed his godfather just as much as Moony missed his mate. Harry was the cub if the pack. Sirius saw him as his little puppy he had to protect at all costs, and Remus saw him as his cub that he had to protect at all costs. Many people, especially Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, didn't know just how close Remus and Sirius Lupin were with Harry Potter. Harry saw Remus and Sirius as the family he was supposed to have. Harry loved them just as much as they loved him. And seeing Sirius Pollux Lupin née Black fall through the death veil in the Ministry of Magic killed Harry just as much as it killed Remus.

Now it was about two and a half minutes until the full moon fully rose up into the starry night sky. Part of Remus told him that he was being selfish and to run back up to the castle and down his last dose of potion for the month. But the other more selfish part of him said to stay where he was and that the transformation back to being a human may be so painful it'll kill him and he will pass away during it. And that's exactly what he wants. To pass. Because if he passes he'll get to see his best friends and mate again. Merlin, how Remus would love to see them again.

Remus started walking to wait out the two minutes. When he suddenly see a circle of silver. A werewolf trap. The silver was shinning and it brought the attention to werewolves and when they would step into it it would snap around them so the silver was in their skin and it would kill them.

Remus started to approach the silver circle when he stopped dead in his tracks in an immersed amount of pain. The transformation had finally begun. After about fifteen minutes the transformation was finally done. Moony then looked to the sky and howled. He looked around and saw the shining bright circle not far from him. Remus was almost to the circle when a big red and black dog barked at him and launched its self into Moony.  Moony had then blacked out.

The next thing Remus Lupin remembers is waking up in the dusty old bed in the Shrieking Shack.  Remus looked over to the piano near the fully lit fire place to see the same dog that had stopped him. The dog was laying in front of the fire panting, obviously hot but refused to move. The dog was big, but not as big as Padfoot was. It was a red and black German Sheppard dog with green eyes.  Remus thought for a second. Those eyes.  The way the dog was looking at him with disappointment, anger, and hurt made Remus think if it was an animangus. But Remus only knew two people in history with that color eyes. His late best friend and his godson. Suddenly the dog started to grow and he was met with a very angry 5'4 Hadrian James Potter-Black.  Remus was in shock. Since when was he an animangus? Who taught him? Himself? Sirius? Remus didn't have the time to think anymore before Harry started to yell at him.

"Are you fucking stupid?!" Harry was beyond angry, he was livid. "What in the name of Merlin possessed you to do that?! Did you want to die?!" Harry yelled. Remus couldn't stop himself from yelling back. "Obviously I did. You don't get it Harry. I lost my mate. I have nothing left to live for!" Harry snapped his jaw shut, tears filling his bright almond shaped eyes. "I don't get it?" He seethed. "Nothing left to live for?" Remus has never seen such anger and gathered before. Especially in those green eyes. He gulped nervously. "I don't get it?! In the matter of fact I do fucking get it Remus Lupin! I know what it's like to loose someone. Someone who you love. Incase if you have forgotten I still get nightmare about my parents. About hearing my dad panicked and yelling at my mum to take me and run. About the sound of my own father's body hitting the ground. I still hear my own mother screaming and begging for my life. I can still see the jet of green light and her body hitting the ground." Harry said teeth clenched.

Remus opened his mouth but got cut off. "Yes, okay. I didn't exactly know my parents. I wasn't close with them. I was only a year old when they died. But I knew my Uncle Sirius. And while I didn't know his as well or as long as you did, I still knew him." Harry's voice shuddered.  "I don't know what it's like to love someone on the same level you two did. But I do know what it's like to be alone. To be hated. To want to end your own life. And you do too. I know you do.... We were alone Uncle Moony. For twelve years I was alone. Trapped in a dark dingy cupboard. Hungry. Thirsty. Waiting. Praying, that someone would come and save me. That I had parents out there looking for me. That loved me. You were alone. You thought your three best friends were dead. You thought you mate was a traitor. Just like his background. The one thing he tried escaping." Harry stopped for a second. Tears running down his face.

"I just- I just thought that now we had each other. Now that we have each other you would be so selfish to not kill yourself. Especially after I was in the hospital wing for two weeks after attempting to kill myself. And I don't think you get it Uncle Moony. Your all I have left." Harry sobbed then screamed "YOUR ALL I HAVE LEFT! I HAVE NO ONE! NO PARENTS! NO OTHER UNCLES! NO AUNTS OR GRANDPARENTS! NO.ONE. And- And you tied to leave me too. You tried to leave me too." Harry cried.

"Harry-" "I love you uncle Moony. I love you so much. But I have to be alone for a bit. I'm sorry." Harry said as he walked away. Harry left the shack.
