After a short flight, Akoya and Moonshine had made their way to the top of the mountains, and Akoya gasped when she saw lots of dragons flying around, talking with each other, and so many other things.
They landed at the bottom of the ravine and approached a large IceWing with a dark blue scar stretching over his eye.
"Prince North," Moonshine called.
He turned around. "Oh, welcome to Bluet Ravine! Are you both looking to join?"
"Not me, but my friend is," Moonshine answered.
"Alright, would you mind if I borrow her for a bit?" North asked.
"No, take her," Moonshine said.
"Alright. Thank you." North smiled, then looked at Akoya. "Follow me."
North led Akoya up to a room with a table and a bunch of shelves with scrolls. He sat down at his desk and offered Akoya a seat in front of him.
"So, what's your name?" he asked.
"Akoya," she replied, and then decided to spell it out, "A-K-O-Y-A."
"Thanks. What tribe are you?"
"A SeaWing."
"Great," he responded. "And lastly, what are your pronouns?"
"Uh, she - her, I guess," Akoya answered.
"Okay, great, thanks! That's all I needed. I will find you later to help you out with moving in and things like that," North said dismissingly and smiling brightly.
"Thank you! See you." Akoya waved goodbye to him and flew straight to Moonshine.
"Welcome to your new home," Moonshine said excitedly.
"Why cant you stay here with me?" Akoya asked, feeling cheerless.
"I have other duties to deal with" Moonshine replied.
"Can't you at least visit?" Akoya said eagerly.
"I'm afraid not, I'm sorry. If I have the chance, though, then I'll try," Moonshine responded, trying to cheer up Akoya. "I have to leave now. It was fun being with you, Akoya."
Akoya hugged her tightly and said, "I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too," Moonshine answered, then let go of her. "Bye bye! Good luck!"
"Bye! And thank you!" Akoya sat by the river, waving at Moonshine and watching her fly off into the distance. But then a sudden, cold touch landed on her shoulder and made her flinch. She turned around to see North, who had placed his talon on her.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you," North said, pulling his arm away. "Come, I have made a temporary room for you."
"Oh, thanks," Akoya replied and followed him to a small cave that was next to his office.
"You will sleep here until tomorrow morning. And you better wake up early, because tomorrow you will be introduced to a new school."
A new school! I'm going to go to school for the first time ever! Akoya thought, feeling excited. She went straight to bed and hoped time would pass by faster, as she was very impatient for the following morning.
"Akoya, wake up," she heard and opened her eyes to see North standing next to her. "You're going to be late."
Akoya got up in a bolt and quickly flew after North when she put on her pearl necklace and leather pouch. And soon enough they landed in a cave. It was empty, but large. North led her through a small tunnel and told her a few directions before leaving her in the dark. She waited patiently, and started hearing dragons chatting nearby. Her tail started twitching with excitement, and then she heard North announcing to the dragons and talking about her. Akoya stood up, ready to come into the light again.
"Give a warm welcome to Akoya!" North said cheerfully.
Akoya walked through the vines that were infront of her and was shocked at how many dragonets had gathered. There was a lot of diversity in the crowd in all ways.
"Year 5 students, why dont you get to know each other better?" North offered, and what Akoya thought was the 'Year 5' students came up started greeting her and introducing themselves. One of them was a SandWing with a red scar across her snout, a few leather pouches and a short orange cape.
"Hi," she said.
"I'm Sol."
