Akoya and Sol had been best friends since Akoya first came to the Hidden Tribes Academy, which felt like forever ago but was only a few weeks. They spent most of their time together, both in and out of school. They were practically sisters.
Today was the arrival of another student, and everyone came to gather around the ledge with vines hanging from it, like they had done for Akoya.
North walked up and sat on the small cliff. He waited for everyone to quiet down, and then he spoke. "Today we have a new student joining us."
"She is a RainWing, and has never really been outside the Rainforest. She is quite interested in birds, as she didnt really have any other family to hang out with," North continued. "Everyone, give a warm welcome to Dayflower!"
A blue RainWing dragonet came out from the vines. Dayflower had dull-yellow wings, but her eyes were as bright as the sun. She smiled shily, and Akoya could tell she was a bit anxious with them.
"You should talk to her and introduce yourselves, Year 5," North said.
Akoya, Sol, and the rest of the Year 5 students walked up to Dayflower and started introducing each other.
"Hi, I'm Akoya," Akoya said.
"And I'm Sol." Sol smiled.
"Nice to meet you," Dayflower replied quietly and put on a shy smile.
And soon, Dayflower started becoming closer and closer to Sol and Akoya, and eventually they all became best friends.
