AFTER MAKING the fun bet, the trio ran up the stairs quickly and then through it just right after Satotz turned around to look down on the surviving candidates behind him.

"I beat you two!" Killua grinned at the two, putting his hands on his hips proudly, "Now both of you need to treat me something!!"

"No, you didn't! I won!" Gon argued back, pointing hands.

"You two are seriously wrong because I passed both of you before we got out!!" Chizuke answered back, crossing her arms on her chest.

"Oh! Satotz-san! Who was the first to get here?" Gon asked, finally noticing the examiner who was observing the trio.

"Well, you three showed up at approximately the same time" He replied.

"Awe man... Then who will pay?" Killua whined while Chizuke grieved for the loss of her free food.

"How about this, let's just pay for each other dinners? I'll pay for Killua's, Killua will pay for Chizuke's, and Chizuke will pay for mine!" Gon suggested.

"Why don't we pay for our food?" Killua sighed.

"That's not fun. Besides, I'm more tempted to buy something for my friends than for my own" Chizuke replied, exhaling heavily.

Being a Kitsune, Chizuke of course is kept away from the outside world. Ever since the accident of her losing her mother and the betrayal of her father, she lived in the woods and would survive on cooked animals from the wild.

If she didn't feel like cooking or was too lazy to do so, she would go to the city nearby and roam around to search for food. Then she would use her mischievous tricks to make someone do what she wanted them to do.

"Ah, Kurapika-san! Leorio-san!" Gon exclaimed, waving towards the two figures who ran out from the dark tunnel.

One was a woman with blonde short hair and the other one was a sweaty man who had round glasses on and a brief suitcase, Chizuke stepped away from the older man.

"Gon..." The woman with blonde short hair muttered, cracking a small smile. Chizuke observed the woman with sparkling eyes

'She looks like mom...'

"This is Chizuke! Chizuke Kyushashi" Gon pointed at Chizuke who stared at the woman in silence, her eyes silently started piling up with tears.

"Hello, Chizuke... I'm Kurapika and this is Leorio" The woman now known as Kurapika greets her warmly, pointing at the sweaty man who was known as Leorio.

"Ah... Hello Kurapika-san..." She started at Leorio, hesitant to greet him too as in her eyes, she didn't trust him

"And you too..."

"Ah, and I'm a man, not a woman." Kurapika added, trying to clear out any weird thoughts from Chizuke's head.

"I believe you're thinking that I'm a woman." Kurapika added.

"Oh... I see..." Chizuke muttered, 'Although... She resembles mom... Even though they don't look exactly the same...'

"Attention candidates, we must cross these wetlands to reach Phase Two of the Exam. This place is home to bizarre animals, many of them are cunning, insatiable creatures who deceive humans and prey upon them. Be careful, If you let them fool you... Then you're dead" Satotz announced.
