"Are you sure about this? You know you could die from this... right?"
He took a deep breath and let his head hang low as he thought about the doctor's words.
"Yes, I know... but I'll do anything for him, even if it means I'll die"

Jungwon carried Sunghoon into the room he was assigned to and gently laid him down on the bed. Doctor Choi walked in with a file in her hand. She places the file down on the table as Jungwon went to take a seat on one of the chairs in the room.
"Mr Park, your symptoms have rapidly worsened. Did something happen?"
Sunghoon blinked at the doctor and glanced at Jungwon, clearly very confused by what the doctor just said. Jungwon realised that Sunghoon had no clue about what was happening so he quickly intervened.
"Doctor Choi... he doesn't know..."
She raised her eyebrow at the younger boy but just sighed.
"Mr Park, you have hanahaki. It's a disease where if you suffer from unrequited love, flowers with grow in your heart and your lungs until you suffocate and die. It can be cured when the person you love reciprocates feelings or you surgically remove the flowers, in turn, that will also permanently remove your feelings."
Sunghoon listened carefully and looked down at his hands. He tried to clear with throat a little bit so that he could speak.
"Is that... the only way...?"
Doctor Choi nodded and took a few glances at Jungwon. The younger boy was fiddling with his fingers and quickly excused himself from the room. The doctor took out a few papers
"Mr Park, you should get the surgery"
Sunghoon quickly shook his head.
"You know you could die from this right?"
He took a deep breath and let his head hang low as he thought about the doctor's words.
"Yes, I know... but I'll do anything for him, even if it means I'll die"
His voice came out raspy but the doctor still managed to hear his words. She sighed and turned to the table, stacked the papers to slip back into the file.
"You're both just the same..."
Sunghoon perked up and was about to ask but a lump caught in his throat. He coughed a few times which caught Doctor Choi's attention. She quickly placed the file down and rushed to Sunghoon's side.
