Slow down

The pre-tests are done and the season is starting for real. Not now though. First I have to get through that "little come-together" of Carlos tonight. To be honest, I'd be disappointed if he really didn't organize a party. I mean it's the "Smooth operator" we're talking about here.

After the last meetings, I was done for today and really hungry. While walking outside and deciding in my head what I want to eat, a voice interrupted my inner monologue. Looking around to where the voice comes from I saw two people from the other direction walking. An Audi manager and Mick Schumacher.

Ugh.

Rolling my eyes I continued my walk and ignored them successfully. Though when they passed me, mine and his eyes met. He was talking to his manager, while holding eye contact with me.

It was like a battle on who's gonna blink or look away first in these few seconds. But none of us did. Leaving them behind me I slightly shook my head and continued my way and focusing on my phone.

Oh right, I don't like him. Neither does he like me. Thankfully.

How did that happen?

Well. Our dads, actually our families, were really close and during the race time of our dads, we spent a lot of time together. You know, kids.
We even started karting at the same time and I hate to say it but in the very early stages, I even liked him. But one day, he showed that he is in fact like the other drivers.

Egoistic. Not saying I'm not. In the end, all the drivers are egoistic and want the P1 for themselves. But not only did he show his true colors but also said as long as he's racing he will always overtake me. That's when the rivalry started.

Yep, the golden retriever guy with ocean-blue eyes has another side. Also, the time I vowed that I will never date anyone during my career.
Alright, enough storytime I need food.

Arriving home I spent some time with Kimi and the others before Charlotte called me via Facetime. In my room, she showed me her wardrobe.

"So, what should I wear?"

After a long discussion and lots of changes, we found an outfit for Charlotte. Charles was in the background, not really being helpful and saying that she looks good in everything. Cute, but not helpful.

"What's going on? I smell it up to here, that something's bothering you, Del." Of course, she would notice.

I placed my phone that way so my full body was shown while looking through my wardrobe. "I met that idiot today."

"Ohhhh, that explains everything." Now Charles was interested. I'm telling you, men are always here for Drama.

"Wait, what idiot? Who are we talking about?"

Charlotte shook her head. "Don't tell me you don't know that Del hates Mick." It was like a lightbulb appeared over his head.

"Oh yeaaah, of course, I do, I'm her teammate. The best one." She just pushed him away and looked back at me.

"What happened? Did you talk? Run into each other? What?"

"Now, slow down. We just ran into each other at the pit. Didn't talk, thank god. But he stared at me till the end."

She took a sip of her drink. "So, the typical staring contest?" I nodded.

"Whatever, it's not like you have to talk to him or be friends. So let's just focus on this evening now."

And that's what we did. They offered to pick me up on the way but I decided to drive by myself. After getting ready and one last satisfied look into the mirror, I left the bedroom said bye to the others, and stepped into my car. It was a sunset outside but it was going to get dark very soon. Putting my seatbelt on, starting the motor and music started to play. Let's go.
