Delancy POV:
It was peaceful. I spent time at a beautiful hidden lake in the woods. Now and then it was possible to see a sunray through the trees. The rustling of leaves, the sound of rain, the sound of water flowing, and the song of the birds. I closed my eyes and felt peaceful and safe.
Or so I thought.
The moment I opened my eyes, everything from the scenery was gone. I was at the race track again. In my car. Hearing that I'll be the world champion. And then it happened again. The car overturned many times until it landed and caught fire. There was one different thing about this dream. Before it turned black, I saw my dad.
I screamed out and found myself in a dark room. This wasn't my home. My body was shaking and I tried to find out where I was.
Out of sudden, somebody touched my arm and I flinched looking at the person. It was Mick. Then I remembered where I was. I wasn't at home. This is Italy and I'm in a Hotel room with him.
Mick POV:
When I heard her scream, I got all tense and immediately sat straight. She was shaking and scared. Was it a nightmare? When I slightly touched her arm, she flinched and her eyes met mine. It was dark in the room but I could see and feel the fear in her eyes. It was the first time ever for me to see her like this. Vulnerable. Scared.
"Are you okay?" My voicetone was soft.
Without hesitating she nodded but didn't say anything. She was clearly not okay. Not even close to okay. But she says she is. I got out of the bed and and got her a glass of water.
"It's water. Drink it." I handed her the glass. She looked up to me and slowly got out of the bed too. She was still shaking, therefore not safe on her feet. I grabbed her before anything happened.
"I know that you're stubborn and don't want help from anyone. Especially not from me. But I help people. And I'll help you now. So, drink the water."
She was silent. No word left her lips. Her eyes were focused on the floor before she raised her hand and took the glass. I still held the glass, making sure she can hold the glass without letting it fall.
After she emptied the glass, I took it again put it away. "Let's grab some fresh air."
We stood at the balcony. It wasn't cold outside but now and then you felt a slight wind breeze. I watched her and decided to talk to her.
"Do you want to tell me about the dream?" She shook her head, looking at the view we had from the balcony.
"It's alright. I'll stay with you." For a slight moment I saw her mouth opening like she wanted to say something. But she didn't. And so we stayed on the balcony for a while until we went back inside.
I closed the balcony door and watched her get back into bed. So, I joined her. She still sat up straight when I got into bed. I wanted to say something until I heard her talk. I sat up straight too, to be able to listen what she was saying, since her voicetone was really low and quiet.
"I can't fall asleep anymore." Because of the nightmare, I finished in my head. Something was telling me that this wasn't the first time for her to have such nightmare. I looked down to the wall of pillows.
"Maybe you can."
She looked at me, raising one eyebrow showing a new expression on her face. Confusion.
I removed the pillows between us. "If you allow me." Then opened my arms and looked at her, a slight smile of trust.
She looked at the pillows on the floor and then back at me and at my open arms. Before she said something, she took a deep breath. "That won't change anything."
