Cato looks at me and I know I blush. I can't help but to stare back and blush some more. Madelyn introduces us to our stylist Amara, she's actually looks really creepy. Her eyelashes are super long and pointy. Unlike the others though she has a big treat for us. She claims that for the opening chariot rides we'll be wearing a golden armor suit with golden wings on the sides of the helmet we'll also we wearing. It seems very original and I like that but when I actually see the costume it's better than I would ever imagine. It seems like something someone from Rome would wear in the middle ages.

Right before the chariot rides they rinse me off one last time to get all the extra grind off my body. We enter what seems like a dome and out the gates are the roaring crowds of Panem. Amara does our finishing touches with some facial makeup on Cato and I but it does seem weird for a boy to be wearing makeup.

I quickly look at the rest of the tributes. They don't look nearly as good as us though, District 1 is wearing some kind of suit made of feathers that makes them look like a flamingo. But I can't help but to see Cato constantly looking over at that girl from District 1, I think her name is Glimmer and obviously she's gonna rely on beauty to win. But she obviously won't by a long shot. Then, I can't help but to look at District 12 and how pathetic they look with their coal miners outfit every year.

The chariots move out one by one starting with obviously District 1, we're next so rushingly Cato and I got into our chariot. As usual black horses were pulling the chariots. Cato gestures me to raise my hand and wave to everyone and many roses fly to us. Then all of the sudden District 12 gets on camera and THEIR ON FIRE!

"SHIT they're stealing our stoplight!" I almost shout at Cato. "Hold on, I have an idea but you have to trust me" He says. I nod and think whatever he's gonna do he better make it quick. Then all of the sudden he grabs me up and tightens his grip on my hips and kisses me passionately. I feel a blush creep upon my face and the crowd roars with screams of delight! Then he let's me go and smiles at me I smile back. I look at the projector and 12 isn't on there anymore, it's us!

I blow to the crowd some kisses and keep my smile nice and neat. Slowly one by one the chariots gather up and President Snow is at the center stage. I can't hear what he says exactly because I was still figuring out what just happened a few minutes ago.

We pull into another dome like place and are greeted by Madelyn, Jacob, and Amara. "Great job!" Says Jacob really the only words he's said all week. "That wasn't just "great" it was perfect!" Madelyn says. "Well what did I tell you, great job on the kiss by the way." Amara jumps in. "Oh yes, the kiss it was perfect! They loved it! And they loved you!" Madelyn says cheerfully.

Training starts today and Cato and I are eating breakfast with Jacob reading the paper. I see Cato closely evaluating his Bacon and Eggs for some reason. After a much quiet breakfast, we head off with outfits Amara left in our rooms. Combat boots, plain white t-shirt, a rain jacket, I'm careful to put my barrette in my hair and closely and look at myself again in the mirror to see how I look. I came out and Cato and I had very much matching outfits.

We enter the arena and we're required to hear what a stupid Avox has to say about how we would most likely die because of dehydration or starvation. So basically it was really stupid. After that, there were stations to learn new things or to practice. Turns out, Glimmer's expertise is with the bow and arrows. I watch as Cato use the sword to chop off the arms and legs of the manikins. When it was my turn I showed Cato, Glimmer, Marvel, and everybody else my skills. I see a perfect dagger just laying there. I take a few. Close my eyes and BOOM, BOOM, and BOOM. I had made a perfect shot each time. It was nice for a change to be the person who scares people.

During our break for lunch we ended up gathering some more allies, it was mostly the usual career groups like us that win, so it's mandatory to get weaklings too, so they'll be easier to kill. Take Marvel for instance, he may be a career but he lacks in fighting. Eventually, we'll kill him first. That is, him or Glimmer.

We watch as the boy from District 12 struggle with climbing the rope, in fact it was a very hilarious sight. Then the girl from his District came over and whispered something in his ear. Soon he was lifting up a 400 pound metal weight and through it over so that it knocked over the rack of swords. We stopped laughing, I suppose he could do well. He'll obviously die because having strength doesn't mean you're going to win.

A week had passed and tomorrow would be our individual training with the game makers to get evaluated with a score of 1-12.

I see Cato sitting on the couch and quickly join him. I scatter my legs and spread them out onto Cato's. He looks down but doesn't really care if I put my legs on top of him. I ruffle his hair and say, "we're gonna win this aren't we?" I say. "It's together or not at all." He says quietly, I smile. Jacob comes in and takes another bottle of Liquor, then leaves not even taking a second glance at us, I leave too.

I wait for Marvel until my name is called. "Clove Sevina." They say through the speakers. I walk in the big iron doors and is awaited by many game makers eager to see what I have to bring to the table. I take the perfect knives from their stands and feel them with my lips. I start with one of the first manikins and hit bulls eye every time. Then end with another manikin that's 10 yards of distance. I close my eyes then BOOM, center target. The game makers clap and nod saying I may leave now.

I leave and take one more glance at Cato getting ready. I bite my lip, hoping I impressed the game makers.
