7: Baekhyun of EXO (Part 2)

It's been ten years since Yeiko left her home country and now she's coming back. After she finished her high school she told her parents that she wants to study in the states for college. She took up interior design at New York School of Interior Design and she now works in Houzz as one of the professional interior designers and decorators. She became successful in her craft.

"Awake already?"

Yeiko turns her head towards the person sitting next to her. "A couple of minutes ago yeah." She half-smiled. "How 'bout you? Have you even slept?"

David took her hand and hold onto it tight. "I little. I think I slept an hour or two."

"David.."

"It's okay, babe. I'm just a bit excited and nervous all at the same time. I'm worried about your parents. What if they wouldn't like me?"

Yeiko looks at David's eyes and saw an ample amount of worry. David is her boyfriend for almost four years now and they live together back in New York. David is an architect and she met him at a party held by one of her college friends and after that they started dating. Two months ago he proposed to her in front of their closest friends during dinner at Jean-Georges and she said yes. David is a good-looking guy and he's also nice and hardworking. Yeiko couldn't ask for more.

"Babe, stop worrying hmm? My parents are the nicest people here on earth and I doubt that they wouldn't like you." Yeiko assured him.

David smiles at her. "As long as you're with me I'll try not to feel nervous. I love you, Yeiko.."

Yeiko smiled as a response and touched his cheek before turning her head back towards the window and stare again at the clouds. They would soon land in a few hours. In that moment, memories of her past came flooding back.

She still hasn't forgotten Baekhyun all these years she'd been gone. She left the country without even saying goodbye to him. What happened between them made her broken. It became difficult for her to even finish her schooling but with the help of her friend Seung Yeon who's always there for her to cheer her up she pushed through. The last thing she heard about Baekhyun is that he studied medicine. Her mom told her that when she's already studying in the states. She knows that her mom has an idea that her and Baekhyun are not in good terms but it's a relief that she never asked. She wants to forget all of it and leave it all behind. She doesn't even want to come back if it weren't for her parents who will celebrate their silver anniversary. She promised that she'll come and that she'll introduce her fiance to them but they would only be staying for three days and head back to New York because of their work.

Still, Yeiko couldn't help not to wonder about how Baekhyun is doing now. Wondering what he looks like now and if he's doing well. She knows he'd be successful. He always dreamt of being a doctor when they were young and she admired him because of that. Then another question pops up in her head. She couldn't help not to think if he's already married. Somehow a part of her wished that he still isn't. Yeiko shook the thought off of her head. She shouldn't think of such thoughts.

Her head slowly turned to David who's now asleep. Then her eyes darted towards their hands that's entwined. She's now with him and soon enough they would marry. Her diamond ring reminded her of that. She shouldn't think about Baekhyun anymore.

Their plane finally landed and arrived at the airport at exactly nine o'clock in the morning. They took a taxi and after an hour she finds herself standing again in front of her home.

Yeiko knocks on the door and soon after her mom opens it. "Annyeong, eomma." She greeted her with a smile.

Yeiko's mother hugs her tight, tears brimming in her eyes. "Our dear, Yeiko.." She croaked. "You've grown into a beautiful lady. Your appa will be proud.."
