It was her usual Saturday morning. Sara looks around as she sits on her usual spot inside her favorite coffee shop after ordering her favorite frappe. She's one of the very few costumers inside since it's still too early and the coffee shop opened just now. She likes to go here because of the cozy ambiance. She can read a book in peace and they sell great tasting frappes and coffee.
She opens her newly bought book as she waits for her order and started reading some of its pages. She's reading Papertowns by John Green.
She's a bit of a fast reader, and when her order arrived she had already read the first two chapters. Sara took her order from Barry, one of the coffee shop's waiters and mouthed thanks after giving him a smile and he did the same. She's a regular that's why some of the staffs know her, and she knows them too as well.
After giving her order Barry remained standing on the side of her table. Sara looks at him and noticed that he wants to tell her something.
"Barry? Is there something wrong?" She asked him.
Barry scratched the back of his head. "Uh.. Somebody wants to ask for your number, Sara." Barry looked uneasy.
Sara's eyebrows furrow in confusion. Her eyes scanned the place before turning back to him. More costumers have just entered the coffee shop now. "Who?"
"The man sitting at the table near the counter. He's wearing dark sunglasses and white longsleeves." He tells her. She was about to turn her gaze to the man he's talking about when Barry stopped her. "Please don't look! He told me not to tell you that it's him."
Sara raised an eyebrow as she smirked. "Really?" Barry nodded his head. Sara bit her lip and an idea pops up in her head. "Alright, give me a piece of paper." Barry handed her a small memo pad and a pen and she began to scribble something. After a few seconds she handed it back to him. "There." She smiles.
"Thanks, Sara." Barry tells her. He was about to leave not until he saw what's written on the paper. "Uh.. You didn't write the last two digits of your number."
Sara grins at him. "I did it on purpose." She answers him. "Tell him to get the last two digits himself." She winks at Barry.
Barry scratched the side of his head looking hesitant at first but he nodded his head. "Okay." He said to her then left her table.
Sara turns her attention back towards the book she's reading with a playful smile on her lips. She badly wanted to look at the table Barry had told her where the guy asking for her number is seated but decided not to. If he's really eager to get her number then he has to approach her and get it himself.
At the back oh her head she's also wondering who might it be. It was the first time someone ever asked for her number. Most guys find her a snob the mere fact that she isn't. Somehow it made her feel glad that someone doesn't think of her that way. She can only blame her face and its strong features which is her eyes and her lips.
A few minutes have passed but no one came to her table. She grinned. Maybe he isn't that interested. She thought to herself then shrugged. It doesn't matter to her anyway. She continued reading her book, still, there are moments when she couldn't help not to be intrigued of who that guy is. She feels the urge to steal a glance but she's afraid he might see her. She doesn't even know if he's still there. So she made up her mind. After she's finished reading half of the book she will look at the table Barry told her. She'll pretend to look elsewhere and have a quick glance at the table, and then she'll leave.
When she did finish reading half of the book she proceeded with her plan. She placed her book down and slowly turns her head. She pretended to scan the area before looking at the door and her eyes took sight of the man Barry was talking about. He's still there.
