Out of the sea

Chapter 2

"Rapunzel! Where have you been?" Mother questions once I arrived at the palace gates. Two guards accompanying her along with father.

I stop in front of them.
"Oh Hi mother and father..." I hugged mom and squeeze father's cheeks. Father and I laughed.

"You went up to the surface again didn't you?"
I gave father a sheepish smile.

"...yes...." Father pursed his lips in a joking manner. "Be careful, Rapunzel." He says in all seriousness. "Yes father."

"Come now, your cousins awaits for you." Mom says.

I beamed. "They're here?!"

"Of course. Why wouldn't they be?" Father grins while mother nods and leads me inside the throne room.

There, I see my two most favorite cousins.

"Rapunzel!!!"
Anna shrieks before swimming towards me, tackling me to a tight hug
I let out a laugh before hugging her back.
"Anna behave yourself." Elsa says to her sister.
Anna lets go. "Sorry! I just missed you so much!"
"I missed you too Anna!"

Elsa clears her throat. I face her. "Aww I miss you too Elsa." Anna and I laughed. Elsa rolled her blue eyes but smiled. "We are here to personally invite you and your family to my coronation day. Three days from now."
I blinked several times before squishing her into my arms.
"Oh! My cousin's gonna be a queen!!!"
Elsa laughs before pulling away. "Since I've come of age...it's time to replace my late parents...and take my rightful place on the throne." Elsa's eyes hold sadness as she spoke about her parents.

Their parents died three years ago...their parents tried to save the merpoeple who were captured by some sailors and thankfully, the the mermaids and mermans were safe. Unfortunately their parents did not make it to the ocean. Elsa then hated the humans. Ever since then she was busy with the things going on with their kingdom that they do not have time to see us.

I gave her a smile. "No doubt you'll be a great ruler."
She smiles. "So, what have you been up to?"
I fiddled with my fingers "Well...I swim up to the surface to...observe the...humans"
Once that last word came out of my mouth, Elsa's smile was replaced by a deep frown. "Observing humans? That's really dangerous Rapunzel!"
I shook my head. "I come home unharmed and unseen. They're not so bad once you get to know them." I murmured the last part.
Elsa grits her teeth in anger...I bit my lip.
"Not so bad?! They took away my parents! They're murderers! And I absolutely am not planning to know the murderers of my parents!"

I let out a sigh. "I know you hate them but not all of them are evil."
Elsa shakes her head "They're humans! For crying out loud!! All they do is kill!"
Anna clears her throat. "How about we swim around the kingdom Els? I miss this place."
But Elsa was too angry to listen. "They are all the same Rapunzel!"
How could she say that? I've seen the humans up close and all I see is happiness and love. She just don't understand. I shook my head.
"No there are different kinds of humans, you just don't know it." With that I swam away from them. Tears blurring my path. Few mermaids look my way wondering why I'm crying. I ignored them.

I angrily wipe the tears away with the back of my hand. Not caring what my people would think.

Poor Rapunzel. Well we can't blame Elsa right? She's been through a lot. I know some of u understands what she's been through. Just like her my father died when I was five. I can't move on till now. So what do u think of this chapter? Good, very good or not?
