Ughh. My head it hurts. It feels like tons of corals are inside. I tried to open my eyes but they were too heavy. So I gave up.

'What happened?' Was the first thought that came to my mind.  All I recall was that I was in my chamber, crying.

For the second time, I tried hard to pry my eyes open not wanting to stay in this darkness. Using all the energy left in me, my eyes suddenly popped open. A bright light blocked my view. I had to blink for my eyesight to adjust.

After blinking a lot, I look closely at my room, I notice that this was all different from what I have in my room. Where am I?

I started fishing out. My heart beat pumped furiously in my chest making it tight for me to breath.

Stirring uncontrollably to the side, pain shot through my body as if I was electrified by an eel.

I screamed as tears slip down to my cheeks. But I realized that nothing came out of my mouth. No sound. Oh no!

I took rigid breaths. Returning from my original yet uncomfortable position. The pain that was there previously was now subsiding. It took me a few minutes to overcome the pain as I sat down.

The room I'm in has a weird looking interior. I was sitting on a tiny bed. My human legs swung back and forth for the bed was taller than them. Wait what?! Human legs?! I look down to see them not in my purple shinning fins but a human legs. So that means I'm not at home. I'm in the surface?!

I was about to scream and panic when I gaze at my mortal legs in curiosity. I've never touched a human leg before. What does it feel like? I may have seen them when humans walk in the sand but not this close.

I raised them to my line of sight. They look weird and...small. They don't shine like my fins do. Moving my so called legs back and forth, I also catch them having short fingers. "Wow....these are amazing!" I held my mortal leg closely in my face. "How do they even use this?" I hold the bed for support as I try to walk my legs.

They wobbled as I stand up. My legs were not that strong to fully carry my weight so eventually I fell down with a loud thump.

The bed was far from my reach so I use place my hand on the ground as my support. Usually at my home. The water can hold my weight so I don't have to use something for support but here is very different.

I raise my back first because my legs are still not immune to this and my hands are supporting my weight.

Suddenly a loud sound erupted from behind me. Because of that I was startled and I cannot move myself from my position.

"I heard something and quickly came here t-" she stopped talking when she saw my position.

"Hi!" I smiled showing my teeth. Even though I know I should be afraid, something's telling me I shouldn't be so I followed that instinct.

She looked at me, oddly. "What are you doing?"

I can't let her know that I am a mermaid so I lied. "Umm....exercising?" It came out more like a question than a statement.

"Okay...well anyway. I'm glad you're awake. Are you hungry? There's food downstairs." She was about to move out when she saw that I was not following her. She arched an eyebrow at me.

"Uhh.....I-I'm stuck." I say to her sheepishly. She laughed as she helped me get up.

I held her tightly since I still can't move with this legs. She gave me an awkward smile. "Hahaha! I'm just excited to meet a morta- I mean a new friend!"

She laughed a bit. "Anyway, I'm Merida and you are?"

I smiled, politely. "I'm Rapunzel. It's nice to meet you. You're beautiful!" I gushed. She mumbled a small thank you. I saw a  faint blush on her cheeks.

"You're welcome. May I ask how I arrived here?" I was holding her tightly as we descended down somewhat an odd looking pathway. It was in a zigzag form. Humans are so interesting.

"Let's see. Me and my friends went into the beach for fun when suddenly the ocean started to move harshly. We thought it was a tsunami. When we were about to run far from there we saw you laying down. I can't leave you so my friends carried you here with us." I nod in understanding.

My wish did really come true! I was silent for a while when I realize 'Merida didn't see my fins did she before I transformed?'

"Did you see anything odd or something?" I crossed my fingers hoping she didn't. "No. Not really." She shook her head making her red curly hair fall to her face. I sighed to myself. Good.
