Hey guys!
I'm still alive! Yehey!
Sorry for not updating. I have no excuse. I'm just lazy. *smiles sheepishly*Anyways if you noticed. I changed the story just a bit because I was having a write's block with the first story. That's all for now. Enjoy!
~~~~~~~
It's been a week. Week of being here on the surface. A week of my family not finding out and in just a week, I learned some human-y things. Like car, picture, cellphone, and cereal and some other stuffs. Merida and Hiccup taught me well. Showed me things I've never seen in the ocean.They are good friends of mine now. Except, Jack. We hadn't talked since the incident in his room.
Whenever I see him around, I usually ignore him or stay away from him. And he is not one to talk. He's a silent type of human. He enjoys reading and listening music on his earphones and he's always away. Early in the morning he's already gone. I don't know where he usually goes but that's not my business.
Anyway, Gothel really did well. Except I didn't know what she really wanted. She haven't got the chance to tell me. But that's not the case right now.
I'm totally enjoying my human-y life.
Right now, I am at work. Yes work to get what they call 'money' and have the things you need and want. In my kingdom, Corallia, my people do not need to work. We have all we need in the ocean without payment. We, the royals tend to their needs.
Since, I am in the human world, I now have to work. Merida plead her boss if I could work here but her boss said I had no application-whatever that is, Merida says it's important if you want a job- and I had no experience in this. However, Merida was determined to get me this job so here I am working.
She taught what I had to do. I am a waitress here and I kinda like it. It was also pretty easy considering I had to wait for the costumer to order and when they do, first I had to greet them and take their order. Merida gave me a small booklet and a ballpen to write the costumers' order so that I wot forget. After that, I was going to give it to the chef then once the costumers leave, I must clean the tables.
At first, It was a bit hard because I had to use one hand in holding a plate and tell you, it was pretty hard. I was a mess but Merida taught me a trick on how to hold it. And they were so many costumers everyday that I was starting to learn.
Merida also told me that when we serve, we should not forget to smile. Because in smiling we can make other people smile too.
A costumer, raises a hand, ready to order. I rush quickly to her side. "Good morning ma'am! My names Rapunzel and I'll be your waitress for today. What would you like to order?" I put a smile to my face.
The costumers told me their orders and I wrote it on my booklet, following Merida's command, then went to the kitchen to give the order. I tore the paper containing the order.
"Hi Shawn! Here's the order for table no. 8." I placed the paper to a clip hanging on a cupboard. Merida introduced me to her friends here and we got along pretty well. "Hey, Rapunzel!" Shawn replies as he places a food on a plate.
I went back to outside, near the bar. Some waitresses were also there waiting for costumers to call them. Merida was also their.
I stand beside her. "Hey Rapunzel. What's up?" She say as I scan the costumers. "Nothing much."
She looks at me. "So how's the first week of being a waitress?" I thought for awhile. "It is actually nice. I feel alive. Like I am not worthless, that I am capable of doing something for my own, not depending on someone else." She nods. "That's good."
A costumer lifts his hand. "Got to go. Talk to you later Rapunzel." Merida walks to the costumer. She smiles as she approaches the costumer.
Suddenly, a bell rings. "Order's up for table 8!" Shawn shouts.
He slides the food on the countertop that was separating him from us. I pick up the plate with one hand.
I made my way to the couple talking and laughing. "Here's your order ma'am and sir. Enjoy!" I gently place the plates on their designated areas. The couple smiled and continue to eat their foods.
~~~~~~
Tresha, one of the waitresses, flipped a thin plate dangling on the glass doors. The words on the plate being seen outside for the people says 'Sorry,we are closed'I grasp the empty plates and enter the kitchen were the sink to place the plates are.
I look at the clock on the wall. Remembering, that the short hand is the hour and the long hand is the minutes. The short hand stays on the number 10 and the long hand was on the number 12. So it was 10:00 pm. One of Merida's teaching. She is like my second mother but in my age.
The water from the faucet turned on. Merida was washing the dishes. I walk to her. "Here let me help." I grab a plate and rinsed the crumbs off it then passed it to Merida who is scrubbing the plate with soap and gave it back to me for the final rinse. "Mer. I have a question." I say. "What is it?" She asks. "Umm... I don't see Jack and hiccup work here. What do they do?" She smiled. "Well, Hiccup works on a shop near here. He loves to paint."
My eyes widens. "Paint?"
She looks at me. "Yeah. Paint.""I love painting. Can you take me there sometimes. Please." I plead. She laughs. "Sure."
I thought for a moment. "What about Jack? What does he do? I see gone every morning."
A mischievous smile spread to her lips. "Why don't you ask him?"
I stare at her dumbfounded. "No."
She looks back. "Why not?"
"Umm...we're not friends and he doesn't want to talk to me."I state.
"Oh please. You became friends with me and hiccup. Why can't you do the same for him?" She asks.
I shook my head. "No."
"Then I won't take you to the paint shop." She grumbles."What?!" I sigh in defeat. "Fine." I placed the last plate on the drawer. "We're done!" I wipe the sweat forming on my cheeks.
She pinches my cheeks with soap in her hands. "Hey!" I swat her hands but the damage was already done. There was soap on my face.
She had a teasing smile on her face. "You like him don't ya?"
"What? Never. What person would like someone there not close with?" I ask.
"I don't know. Maybe....you?" She giggles.
"Psshh. Not happening." I roll my eyes.
Suddenly, water sprayed on my face. "Shark!" Merida laughs.
"Why you!" I grab a mug from the sink that was filled with water and splashed it on her face.
I laughed when her clothes were soaking wet. "Oh it's on, Rapunzel!" She declares and grabs the faucet towards me.
I shield my face using my hands.
The joy of being a human. Thank you Gothel.
