The place is very dark as I move around it. I have to hold on the walls to know where I am going for my source of light was now in no use since it was broken.
And let's just say that I have no idea where I am now.

I keep moving forward, hoping that someone might rescue me or I will see a light because this place is giving me the creeps.

Suddenly I heard a whimper coming from somewhere. Startled, I jumped in a fast manner, glued to the wall I was holding for support before. Unmoving. Eyes wide open as terror consumes me within. "W-who's there!!" I screamed. The whimper comes back.

I use my night vision. Merpeople can pass the dark. No matter how pitch black it is but it will only last for an hour or so if that merperson is at a young age.

I saw a small movement coming from what looks like a coral reef. "As the princess of Corallia I command you to show yourself!" Again I shout.

A baby seal moves out of the coral. It's pinkish skin had a glow in them. His eyes is huge showing a slight blue in them. Then and there I fell in love with it.

I float towards him but he swims afar. I feel guilty when I shouted at him. "Hey. It's okay. I don't bite. I'm sorry if I yelled at you. I thought you were a dangerous creature."

"Come here." I motioned my hands. Still shivering, he slowly approach me but stops every step he takes. I look straight into his eyes that is filled with curiosity and wonder. I remember the day that I first went to the surface. I was also like him.

One night I saw my older sister, Aria swam in the middle of the night. I followed her. She was meeting with someone on the human land. It was a boy. The same age as her.

I was hiding on a rock not far from them. All they did was talk and the boy would touch her fins every minute.

After that we both went back to to the palace without her noticing my presence.

For the past few days, I still see her going out of bed to see that mortal.

That very next day father learned about her escaping and going to the surface to meet the mortal boy. She was banned from going back. No one, I mean no one should know about mermaids. Humans think that we are here to kill and control the world and they would be our slaves. That we would create what they call a tsunami. Before father ruled
Corallia. Ancient Mermaids as they say can walk on land and persuade sailors to be their servants. Ancient mermaids control the sailors to kill other humans and they shall bring it to us for us to feast on. If a slaves does not bring back a meal, the mermaid will kill the servant and fed on him. Then they would find another mortal to be their slaves. Mortals are scared that we will rise again.
But some think that was all a myth. Humans always interest me.

Sometimes I would ask Aria about the human world and she would answer most of my questions in excitement. I recalled how her eyes had a glow in them when she talks about the mortals.

I always thought that my sister and that human boy would be together but life always has it's ways of interfering.

I hadn't realize that the seal was beside me when he nudge slightly on my hand.

I looked down and pat his head. "What's your name?" I pet his head. He made a sound in the back of his throat.

"You don't have a name? Okay so I guess I am the one who is going to give you a name. Sounds good?" The seal nods it's head frantically. I laughed at his cuteness. "Okay let's see. Hmmmm.....Cory?" I asked him. He was silent for a moment the shook is head.
"Ummmm...marlon?" He made a face. I guffawed.
"Hahahah. I believe you don't like that name." I say to him. "How about Marwell sounds good to you?" Marwell smiled widely. He is adorable I tell you!

"Now, Marwell can you tell me the way out of here?" Baby Marwell nods as he points at the far end of the trail. "Ohhh okay! Lead the way captain!" I gave him a salute which he returned. Let's just hope there's no monsters there.
