Out of the sea

Chapter 11

We talked a bit about things. And the girl that Merida was talking about who Hiccup likes was her.

I can't help smiling when he revealed his feelings for Merida to me.

"Umm. Rapunzel?" I glance at him and smiled. He looked nervous.

"C-can you-uhhh- give me tips on how to serenade her?" My smiled got bigger.

"Of course! Of course! I'd be happy too." I almost jumped when he asked that. I clapped my hands and whispered to him the plan.

Hiccup left once we reached the room. I enter, lightly closing the door so I won't wake Merida up.

But Merida was awake, laying on the bed with something between her hands. She was pressing it with her thumb.

"Hey, I'm back-" she was taken aback by my voice, the thing she was holding fell to her face.  "Ouch!"

To my horror, I quickly came to her aid. "Shark! Merida I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to startle you!"

Merida rubs the red spot on her forehead. "Shark? There's no shark here." She states, looking around.

I bit my lip. "It's an expression when I do something horrible."

She gave me a weird look. "Shark? Seriously?" Merida shook her head.

"Sometimes I don't understand you. Like now." She continues pressing on the thing that fell on her face.

Curious, I asked, " What are you doing?" My eyes followed its every detail.

"Texting someone on my phone." She says in a duh tone. "What's a phone?"

Her face was full of surprise when I asked that. "What's a phone?! Are you serious?!"

"I-uhh don't know what a phone is. The place I live has no things like that." I state sheepishly, playing with my fingers.

"Where do you live then?" Her eyes observing me, if I lie or not.

"I live...far far away from here." I cautiously said.

She nods her head and went back to text on the so called phone.

"Anyway, here are the things you told me to bring." She grab them from my hand then place them on the ground near the bed.

"You can sleep on the bed since it's more comfy." She starts laying down.

"What no! This is your room so you sleep in your bed."

"No-"

We argued for about 2 minutes or so but I won the battle so I will sleep on the floor with the duvet and three pillows.

I lay on my back in the duvet, comfortably. A soft cushion placed on my head.

A pillow I think. Suddenly sleep begins to come. A yawn escaped my lips.

"Goodnight Rapunzel." Merida yawns too.

"Goodnight Merida." I say back. "Sleep tight. Don't let the bed bug bites."

That made me alert. "What's a bug?" Then out of nowhere a sound like grazing was near my bed. Followed by a buzzing noise.

I move far from it. Abruptly, something crawled on my arm. "Ahhhhhh!" I screamed.

"Shark! Get off me! Get off me!" I wiggled my arms as hard as I could. Luckily, it flew away.

Merida laughs at me. I gave her my stink eye. She doesn't fret and continue laughing. "That was a bug." She points out and turn to the side to have a comfortable position. "Night. Night princess."

"Wait how did yo-" I paused. "Never mind. Goodnight Merida."

Merida let out a big snore. I giggled at her silliness and went to sleep.

An open area formed on the wall and the moon was shining brightly with the stars. "Goodnight mother. Goodnight father." I whispered. Then sleep took me to my dreamland.
