Chapter 7
POV. Damian
She looked so cute with her hair down. It was a test of endurance for me to keep my eyes on the road rather than on her. It's weird, a girl had never made me feel that way. First thing's first, we had to finish our project. After that we'd see how things turned out for us both. Just as we were about to arrive at the Cafe, my car stopped running. How could I have been such an idiot?! I looked at the meter and it turned out that I had run out of gas. I was terrified at the thought of the most feared situation were the guy runs out of gas and the girl ends up pushing the car while the guy drives it. Elisa saw the worry in my face as I sat back in my seat and let out a big breath of air. "What's wrong? Why did the car stop? Do you want me to call my mom?"
I couldn't just stay there and look like a helpless idiot. I just sat in my seat and tapped my fingers against the driving wheel. Bingo! My savior was calling out to me. I had turned my head to the right and saw the local park right across the street. Good thing I stopped the car right next to the sidewalk. I thought up my escape and gave her the biggest smile. I think she was shocked by the size of my probably creepy smile. "Surprise! We're going to study and do our project, at the park!!!"
She looked at me in disbelief. "Is this a joke?"
I think I panicked when she asked me this because I could feel the sweat coming down the back of my neck.
"No one's ever brought me to the park before by surprise!!!"
I was saved by that one! I took the opportunity and rolled with it. I got out of the car and walked over to her side. I opened the door for her like a gentleman and close it right after she got out. We were about to walk across the street to the park when all of a sudden I remembered something, I had forgotten the materials in the trunk. I felt my face flush red in embarrassment. "Hey wait up. I forgot the materials in the trunk."
"You know what? Just leave them there. Let's go to the playground and have some fun!" her eyes glowed with playfullness I had never seen before. I walked back towards her and followed her across the street.
While we were at the playground, I noticed how every time she looked at me, she would habitually fixed her hair or twirl a few strands of hair in her fingers. She looked so beautiful. Her hair flowed so softly in the wind and her eyes shined like stars. I almost couldn't help myself when we got to the swings. I pulled her back and push her on the swings for a few moments. I felt let stopping the swing and just holding her in my arms. Just then, I stopped myself and just kept pushing her.
After walking for a while at the park, I took her back home and we agreed to meet the next day. I could've sworn I wasn't going to be able to keep myself from kissing her goodbye that day. I went back home and didn't sleep all night. All that my mind kept me busy on was the thought of her, and the thought that I would see her again tomorrow.
