"Elisa! Wake up!"
Once again I was awakened by the loud screams of my mothers voice. Too sluggish to get up, I opened my drawer, pulled out my socks and I put them on while I was still laying down on my bed. I then got up, changed from my pajama to my favorite black jeans and a purple top, put my shoes on and went downstairs. Surprisingly, my mother made breakfast that morning. I thought she would wake me up, drag me to the car, and go through the drive through at the nearest fast-food restaurant like she always does. I had no idea she could cook, which, now that I think about it, is kind of sad. She made some scrambled eggs with hash browns and some bacon. I ate as fast as I could and dashed out the door onto the car while my mother took her sweet time to get out of the house.Once she got into the car, she started the engine and we drove off.
The ride was pretty quiet compared to other times. I decided to turn on the radio onto my favorite rock station. My favorite song "Monster" was playing. I started thinking about the thing I saw in the attic the day before. I wondered and thought to myself, "Should I tell my mother?" Then again, I didn't think she would ever believe me. She would probably just say,"I think you hit your head too hard when I dropped you as a baby." I decided to just keep the whole thing to myself and hope for the best in all this mess.
I couldn't believe she made me go to school. I slowly walked to the class. While I was passing those ugly red lockers I could hear some girls from my chemistry class talking about me. I could clearly hear them saying, "OMG! She is so ugly! How did she end up with Damian as partners?! That should have been me!" "No he's mine!" I swore I wished they could shut up. It really irritates me when preppies start bickering. It's almost like hearing to squeaky dolls yell and apart from giving me a headaches from the shrieking, they creeped me out. I mean, what normal human being falls all over a person like fans throw themselves over movie stars? So, I put my ear buds on and continued walking towards my class.
And there he was, sitting at our table with his notes out and ready to work. I slowly and sluggishly walked to my seat and planted my butt on the stool. So far so good. "Hey!" Damian said, "Elisa right?" In the stupidest fashion, I nodded my head like a dork with an expression of shock on my face. "What happened? You looked like you saw a ghost." He put his arm around me, not being able to control my embarrassment I blushed. In a trembling voice I said, "No I'm good. Thanks and um yeah, I'm Elisa. You're Damian right?"
"Yeah I am. You're looking nice today." My cheeks were flushed in the slightest tone of red. I giggled like an idiot and said trying to not look at him, "Thank you." Just as I took my notebook out our chemistry teach walked in. "Okay! Settle down class! Today we'll be watching a scientific film on the studies of animal behavior so that means no chemistry today."
All that was going through my mind was that; I didn't have to interact with Damian that much today and that I wasn't going to be forced to work at all today.
