Author's POV:

There is a saying by Lao Tzu,

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage."

This means, being loved and loving, both have a significant impact on one's life. But we do not always get the chance to love or ... be loved.

As being loved is grandeur, loving someone is another luxury most can't afford. That was all you believed at least, ever since you could understand these aspects. Until a certain someone showed up.

Kim Taehyung, he was.

———

"How many times have we even fought this week?" You heard Jihoon speak and said, "Do you think I have count?"
Hearing your unbothered voice, he sighed.
"Fine. Anyway, just... 2 more months and we're free, aren't we?"
"We are, indeed."

You looked at the portrait on the nightstand and wondered why it was there in the first place. Shrugging it off, you got up and reached the doorstep of the room, "What do you want for dinner?"
"I ate outside."
"Knew it." You mumbled and walked out into the kitchen.

You watched Jihoon walk into the bathroom with a towel and continue doing your work. You honestly didn't even care. It felt rather stuffy now.
It had been 4 months since your marriage. Contract marriage. With someone, you didn't even like one bit.

It was rather forced. Due to some dealings between your families. Company profits so their project would end with colossal success. At first, they said you could end it after 6 months. But they asked you not to divorce him later on. Your parents asked you to try if you could bear with him. They said that was how love was. It would grow eventually.

But did you trust them? No.

They were simply being selfish. Maybe they didn't even realize what type of situation they were pushing you in. They only cared about the profit and reputation that'd bring them. Park Jihoon was the only son of Park Corp's owner, Park Lee Son. Vast capital, reputation and work they had. You, on the other hand, were the daughter of Lee Sung, the owner of the famous food company, Lee Ltd. Lee Y/N, you were.

Maybe many arranged marriages worked out. But some did not.

You were waiting for 6 months to be over. How long would you have to spend with him? You hated it.

So did he.

Jihoon and you agreed on divorce in 6 months. Still, you at least expected to be friends with him. But he might've had other plans. You realized that the day you saw him bringing back his ex-girlfriend to his birthday party along with his other friends.
Not like you cared about it. But as a wife, it hurt your ego highly.

He was forced to break up with his girlfriend before your marriage. But he was still talking to her. Maybe they weren't doing anything yet, you could count it as cheating.

You didn't like him but there was a boundary. He always crossed it.

Maybe you tried. You tried to like him for the first 2 months. You were pretty nice to him. Marrying and getting a divorce sounded quite sad to you. So you thought, maybe it could work out. Just once, you had that thought. After all, you tried running away from home and whatnot before marriage? So, if it worked out, good for you.
But... not only did you fail to like him, but you also failed to simply bear him as well.

Only if you had a boyfriend, you'd do the same. Who cared if it was petty? You should be equal, shouldn't you?

But you were also somewhat glad that he had invited his ex-girlfriend. Because with her came another guy who was her cousin and Jihoon's friend as well. Kim Taehyung, he was.
