Chapter 9

Author's POV: 

"Right, Oppa loves rollercoasters. He doesn't even flinch." Tzuyu frowned as everyone gasped.
"Then, you both should ride together!" Mina said as your eyes widened. Him and you, alone? No way.
"Ah, it's alright..." You said in a low voice.
"Right, why would she ride with another man?" Jihoon's voice reached your ears, making you raise a brow.

"And what's that to you?" Jihoon frowned as you rolled your eyes. Mina sighed and said, "I mean, you both should just ride it, come on. If you want, of course. That's fine, isn't it?"
You seemed uncomfortable so Mina frowned, asking you if anything was wrong. You shook your head and looked up to see Taehyung staring at the roller coaster in awe. He smiled widely when people screamed. He seemed excited.

You were mentally telling yourself that his smile wasn't your business and you shouldn't ride it. Not with him. Not after that night but your feet automatically started walking towards the gate.
"Let's ride it, Taehyungsshi."
He seemed confused and surprised but seeing you going further, he followed you. Jihoon frowned and Mina shushed him, "What's wrong with you? Don't act so overprotective if you can't assist her. That's your duty but you aren't even... gosh, whatever."

You both sat down and you looked at Taehyung, "I... really wanted to ride this."
You looked away as soon as his eyes fell on you. He nodded, "I know."
Soon, the ride started and you let out a squeal making Taehyung glance at you. You shut your mouth, feeling awkward. Why was your heart feeling fussy yet comfortable amidst all this?
You hated that you felt so happy all of a sudden. The agony was there but you felt another sense of comfort and peace.

Now that you were beside him, you felt good. It was right you were anxious as well after all that happened with him but, it still felt nice.

"Woah!" You heard him and grinned as the roller coaster started. It was so fast and the breeze blew through you both, "AAAAA!!!!"
You screamed. You turned your head to see Taehyung sitting there quietly, grinning.
"You aren't scared?!"
"Not really." He shook his head. You couldn't help but laugh and he smiled a little, "Should I pretend to be? The kid seems to be finding me weird."
You looked in front of you both to see a kid turning around, crying while watching Taehyung.

You couldn't help but laugh seeing the kid snotting over the woman next to him while crying.
"You should. I swear." You said, laughing even louder, screaming in between due to the exciting ups and downs of the ride.
After some time, the rollercoaster stopped and you both got down.
"That was so fun!" You said, excitedly. Taehyung smiled a little, putting aside his worries for a moment. He felt happy seeing you smile so freely. You hadn't smiled like that unless you were with Mina the whole day.

"Uh, where are the others?" You asked as Taehyung frowned, looking around.
"I don't see them either." The awkward air hit you both again as you looked at the ground, "Should I call them..?"
"They'll come around anyway. Do you have to?" He asked. You looked up at him, not knowing why he was saying that. He cleared his throat, looking away. He seemed to be wondering something to himself.
"Just call them. I mean..."

You sighed and said, "Taehyungsshi."
"Yes?"
"Are you awkward?" You looked down. Maybe, if you both forgot about it, it'd be better. It wouldn't be so awkward with him at least and maybe some weird thoughts would come less.
He didn't answer, just kept staring down.
"If you feel uncomfortable, you can just... forget it. I mean... I was drunk. I didn't realize I said such weird stuff. I mean, I'm sorry for that day..."

You smiled a little and looked at him, "We're friends, right?"
He wanted to say 'no'. He wanted to say that you could never be a friend in his eyes. He loved you, the way a man loved a woman. But he couldn't do that.
He stared at you with a soft smile, nodding. He hated himself for lying.
"We're great friends, of course."
