Chapter 3

Author's POV:

"Y/N. Have you seen this?" You shook your head at Mina's question as she showed you some strange tiktoks. You started laughing loudly. You had visited Mina in her chamber randomly. She said she didn't have many patients today so she could spend time with you. 

You didn't want to bother her but as she insisted, you had no other option left. You both talked and watched random things when a thought occurred to you.
"Oh, your colleague, I mean."
"Taehyung?" Mina asked as you nodded.
"Where does he work? Which department?" She looked at you confused, "Why do you wanna know?"
"Just normally. He happened to be Jihoon's friend too." You said but for some reason, instead of getting the "OMG" reaction from Mina, you saw her looking like someone had sucked her soul out of her body.

"Jihoon's friend?" She asked.
"Yeah. Why do you look so shocked?" You looked at her as she hiccuped twice, shaking her head.
"Did you do something weird?" You raised a brow as she shook her head. She had bitched about Jihoon to Taehyung. God. Her and her annoying mouth, for real.
"As long as you didn't bring Jihoon into the conversation with him, it's fine." You smiled as she nodded. You suspected she had done something but she couldn't be that stupid right? 
"He works in the... uh... cardiology department..." 
"Oh." You nodded and looked down, "Is it as busy as yours?" 
"You know well I'm just a simple checkup doctor. I don't do surgeries and stuff. He does those too. Though most cardiologists choose not to perform surgeries, they usually can't... he's strange. He did like.. 2 surgeries so far due to emergency and he passed those."

You nodded.
"So, you knew him before?"
"Yeah. I saw him at the birthday party like... a month ago I think. Before that, I only saw him a few times in pictures and... yeah." You said. She nodded. 
"He didn't attend your wedding?" 
"It was literally with like... 15 people. What do you expect? Well, I heard from Jihoon a lot of his friends were outside the country at that time so." 

"Uh, Y/N. Listen... uhh... take this card and go to the cafe. 2 coffees, okay? If you want anything else, bring whatever. Go for now! Just 5 mins."
"Why?!" You asked, frowning. She shook her head and said, "I'm just... tired. Please. Coffee." 
She rushed you outside and shut the cabin door as you let out a huff. 
"She's suspicious." 

Mina, on the other hand, banged her head on the table.
"How will I ever face that Kim guy now? Ugh! I'm such a useless best friend." 

You entered the cafeteria and ordered 2 coffees, sitting on the bench nearby. The hospital was quite beautiful. 

White and beige on the walls, decorated perfectly. Meanwhile, plants were abundant, trees everywhere and blue stuff everywhere. It was a beautifully themed hospital. Mina chose a beautiful place to work at. 
You looked at different people. Some of them looked very sick, some were happily smiling. A bunch of kids ran around here and there while being nagged at by their parents. 

You couldn't help but smile at the view in front of you when you heard the cashier call you. Turning around, you saw a familiar figure entering the cafeteria. Kim Taehyung. 

You never ran into him before, why were you running into him now? 

You cleared your throat a little and looked down, walking toward the cashier in hopes of not being seen. You did not want to associate with someone who saw you crying and vomiting and got indirectly called an overly kind type of guy by you. 
That was embarrassing. 

You quickly took your coffee and were about to leave but stopped hearing your name, "Ah? Y/Nsshi?"
