Jiang Cheng woke up in darkness.
He woke up a little too early probably, mostly because he had only taken in a small dosage of the roofied tea. He only knew he was being driven somewhere, in a car, or a van – it was all quiet, apart from the engine's revving sounds.
Somebody was driving like crazy, at least this much he gathered. His head hurt terribly, and he cursed himself for having gotten himself fooled so easily. He had become... complacent lately, and it was nobody's fault, but his. He should have seen the signs, the weird behavior today, and he should definitely had trusted A-Huan's guts: taking up a bodyguard had sounded ridiculous to him, but today? Yea, today – not so much.
It had been one of the very rare occasions when Brent wasn't tagging along at his tail, annoyingly so, but then – he had been safe at those annoying times too.
He didn't need to speculate for too long. The people who held a grudge against him could be counted on the fingers of his right hand. He excluded the gangs – it all had been quite quiet on that front for a year now, and he still had the (reluctant) protection of his sister's boyfriend.
So this left out...
- Johnny? Are you sure this's gonna work?
- Shut up, Yun.

Jiang Cheng's heart quickened its beat, despite his better judgement. He distractedly wondered whether he had ever known Johnny's younger brother's name at all.
