Today was a lounge day for you.

You always felt like shit on your birthday, so all day you've been practicing not getting out of bed. Since it is getting late you were planning to practice sleeping.

You don't know what Levi was up to. The only time you left your room was to get some snacks, and he wasn't there.

You wanted to eat something before you went to sleep so you walked out of your room and headed to the kitchen.

When you walked up the stairs you noticed the smell of something familiar. You ascended to the top of the stairs to find Levi standing, facing the counter, holding a glass of wine.

Ahh, his old friend.

The counter was in front of you, but he was leaning on the other counter behind him. The entire kitchen was dimly lit, the only light spread evenly throughout the kitchen.

His dress shirt had some buttons unbuttoned, exposing his slender neck and a small part of his chest. You both make eye contact with each other and he put his cup beside him.

"Hey," He greeted.

"Hi, did you just come back?"  You asked.

"I've been here for an hour." He replies. It's some minutes past eleven, currently. Usually, Levi would come back by 7 or earlier, if he felt like it.

"Late work?" You assumed. You walk closer to the kitchen, where Levi was because nothing was going to stop you from getting some snacks.

Not even your newfound appreciation of Levi's attractiveness.

"No, I had interviews for a new receptionist, so I stayed later than usual."He explained. He held up a wine bottle. "You want some?"

"Sure, why not." You agreed. "What happened to Arlene?"

"She's my personal assistant now," He stated. "It comes with a pay raise, and I like Arlene."

"Good for her, " You say. Arlene, though timid, seems like a great person. You look inside the cabinet for crackers or something.

After getting the crackers, you stand next to Levi and take the glass he gave you. It was red wine, a very sweet wine that had a hint of sourness to it

Levi looked at you, calmly sipping the glass and staring off into nothing. He took another drink from his glass. "Something on your mind, brat?" He asked.

"Uh, no," You lie. "No, it's nothing

"Tch," Levi sighed. "Bullshit."

You look at him while staying silent. You finish the glass in your hand and pour more from the wine bottle that was suspiciously almost empty.

"Tomorrow is the anniversary of my mom leaving me." You mumble.

You didn't tell him about it also being your birthday tomorrow, and hopefully, he had forgotten that you already indirectly told him, during your conversation in his room.

"Oh really?"  He replied.

You and Levi didn't speak for some minutes. He wasn't pressing you for any more information, but if you wanted to share, he was giving you silence.

He took another sip of his wine and you did as well.

"It still hurts," You admit to him.

"Every year tomorrow, I think about her greatly." You say. "I cry sometimes, whether it's out of sadness, or pure frustration."

"I don't think I'm over it,"

You put the almost empty glass of wine next to you. "And I feel silly for not knowing when I will be."
