***Flashback***
"Catch me if you can, (Y/N)!"
A young girl and boy of about 4 years old started chasing each other on the playground in the kindergarten nursery. The boy started running around the big slide and all the way across the sand, his blond hair glinting in the sunlight, while the girl, wearing pretty white sandals and a (F/C) summer dress, ran right after him, though not as fast as she wished.
"You're going too fast!" she cried, laughing as she tried to catch up.
The boy turned back and stuck his tongue out. "Well you gotta try harder!"
"SEAN!" she screamed, giggling as she slowed to a stop, panting. The boy, turning back to see her with her hands on her knees in complete exhaustion, slowly walked back to her, but not before picking a dandelion from the ground halfway.
"You know (Y/N), you look cute when you're tired," he said without hesitation.
To this, you smirked knowingly. "Am I always going to be this cute to you?"
"Oh, maybe," Sean answered airily. Then his smiled immediately drooped to a frown. "(Y/N), you know this is the last day I can play with you."
To this, you looked at him with a shocked expression, your eyes widening. "Really?"
Sean nodded slowly. "And I don't know when I will see you, or play with you, ever again."
You started to cry now, softly. How could he just show up now and say he was moving away from you? All this time, he has been your best friend, and now he was saying goodbye without any previous warnings beforehand. How could he?
"Hey, (Y/N), don't cry," Sean told you, wrapping his short little arms around your frail form. "I will come back some day. Don't forget me."
You sniffled and wiped your tears with the back of your hand. "You sure, Sean?"
"I promise," he said, holding a pinky up for you to link with, which you did. "And...this is for you," he added bashfully, holding up a dandelion, which he stuck in your hair, the stem just behind your ear.
You smiled and gave him a hug. "Thank you, Sean. And I will wait till you come back to play with you once again."
The two of you held the embrace for a short while, neither willing to let go. Then you removed your arms from him, and then waved goodbye, both of you heading your separate ways.
********Present Day********
"For those of you seniors who have been so eagerly waiting for prom, we are happy to say that prom nominations and ticket sales start today!" the principal's voice blasted on the PA, and all of you, well, except you, cheered.
"Be sure you get your parents to sign the permission form before you buy the ticket," the principal warned. "If not, you would not be able to buy the ticket. We will all be checking. Also, prom nominations could be picked up outside the main office, which you would all be required to fill out and submit at the prom tickets selling booth outside the main office."
You glanced quickly at the other students in your physics class, who were eagerly whispering to themselves about their dresses and the like. But you decided to keep quiet. Why would this concern you, anyway?
"The theme this year would be 'Prom in Paradise'," the principal continued. "However, this does not mean that you can disregard the dress code expected from our school. For everyone's safety, you are all still required to wear formal wear, not anything too revealing."
