"So what's the plan?" Fred asked lazily as he leaned back in his favourite armchair, his spinning sign propped up on the left arm of it as always. By this point, everyone--including Sean--had gathered around in the main lab where the gang normally worked. The only people absent were Melanie and Gisele--Melanie still had to pick up her little sister from school, of course.
Gogo laid out a huge piece of blueprint paper on the floor--a very sketchy map of San Fransokyo, done by her hand. "We need evidence again," she simply said. "Remember how last time, when we found Tadashi and Gisele and (Y/N) and we had that trial regarding Callaghan's attempted murders?"
The entire group nodded...except for Sean, who was still thoroughly confused.
"Did Melanie tell you everything?" Honey Lemon asked Sean.
Sean shook his head. "Not really. I guess she was so freaked out about (Y/N) that she wouldn't give me many details. Though I'll be honest on my opinion, I kind of missed her in Physics Class today." He bit his lip in shame and hung his head.
"I'm really worried about Melanie," Tadashi murmured, scratching the back of his neck. "So much has happened since the last time (Y/N) got placed as a target. And (Y/N) and Hiro across the country by now...who knows what could be in store for them? It's kinda rude for them to bail out on all of us."
"Dude, (Y/N) probably needed answers," Wasabi assured his buddy. "I guess no one saw this coming--Callaghan coming back at large, and everything. Besides, I guess we can all agree that we're all quite fond of Mr. Lacitier and the way he treated (Y/N). Am I right?"
The entire gang nodded.
Just then, the door burst open, and Melanie and Gisele ran inside, dumping their bags by the door as they joined everyone else.
"Sorry I'm late," Gisele apologized. "It's just...stuff about going into high school next year that concerned me, so I had to stay behind to ask the teacher stuff." She sat down on the ground and looked up at Tadashi. "Also, I'm somewhat struggling with science stuff, so...you don't mind giving me some more help now, do you?"
Tadashi laughed as he gave Gisele a quick side hug. The two of them, both having developed a strong bond when the former ended up in the same cell on the abandoned island as the latter, were quite easy around each other--especially since Tadashi volunteered to tutor Gisele whenever she needed him. "Of course I don't mind, Gisele! You can always approach me if you need help."
"Thanks, Tadashi," Gisele smiled. Then she turned her attention back to the group. "So, Gogo...you're taking charge now, are you?"
Gogo nodded, her face flushed somewhat with pride. "Yeah. I'm kind of like a second-in-command, you can say. No, I didn't nominate myself," she added quickly. "But that's not important. Anyway, so, as I said before, we need evidence."
Fred, who had been lying on the armchair sideways with his feet in the air, now scrambled over and leaned forward to hear the plan. "Where can we find it?" he asked.
"My question exactly." Gogo shrugged and scratched her head. "According to Honey Lemon, the note she found was in her house, the news have spread all across San Fransokyo..."
"And there's no stopping the flow of gossip at school," Melanie recalled. "Everyone was talking about it. But the teachers I talked to--(Y/N)'s teachers--disbelieved the news greatly. Though I wasn't sure how to read her calculus teacher's expression when I told her."
Tadashi nodded. "So I guess that's settled." He leaned forward to see the blueprint map better, then pointed to San Fransokyo High. "We have to head back to San Fransokyo High at some point, do we? Just to convince them that the news story isn't true?"
