The next day, you and Hiro were lying around in your bedroom at Abigail's place, his arms firmly around you as you hugged him back, just cuddling with him on the bed, the both of you still fully awake. Of course, with all of the things that happened over the last few days, it bugged you so much that you couldn't sleep.
"You alright, (Y/N)?" you heard Hiro quietly murmur, breaking the peaceful silence for just a second.
"Hmm? I don't know," you admitted, your head buried deeper into Hiro's chest. "So much has been going on, I don't know if I can keep up anymore."
"Hey. Don't worry so much. You're a strong person, (Y/N). Remember what I told you? You're never weak in my eyes. You stopped the person who could have triumphed and took over practically the world. And that made you a hero, (Y/N). You did what you had to do. And I couldn't even find the courage to do that," Hiro said to you now, softly, so that you didn't break anymore than you probably were.
You nodded, your arms tightening slightly around Hiro's form. "I...guess so," you said. "Sorry, Hiro."
"There's nothing to be sorry about," Hiro said, stroking your hair softly with his fingers. "I'll always be here if you need me, every step of the way. Alright?"
"Yeah." You nodded again as you let yourself relax, and Hiro hummed as you both just surrendered to the peaceful silence, to each other's warmth...before Melanie came in and ruined the moment.
"So, (Y/N)? What's your plan now? I mean, about prom and everything?" Melanie asked.
You turned your head to see her. "Seriously, Melanie? Haven't you heard of knocking?"
Melanie laughed lightly as she perched on the bed where you and Hiro were still cuddling, not willing to let go of each other any moment now. "I have, but it's kinda urgent since we all have to be back at San Fransokyo soon and with prom on the rise and everything..." Here she stopped as she glanced at your sad eyes. "You're staying to wait for Mr. Lacitier, aren't you?"
To this, you nodded. "Yeah. I can't leave him here. I have to see if he'll be okay. And if I go back home to San Fransokyo High's prom, that would be a bit late, right? You already got your dress and everything--"
"That's true. And you didn't get a ticket either," Melanie realized. "I understand, (Y/N). I'm sorry."
You shrugged. "That's okay, Melanie. Really. I'd rather stay here knowing that Mr. Lacitier would still be here with me than go back to San Fransokyo where most people wouldn't even know me."
Melanie nodded as she laid her head on your shoulder. "I wish I can stay here with you too. But we have to head home soon."
"And you got here with Sean and Gisele's teleportation powers, didn't you?" you smirked.
"Yeah." Melanie nodded as she squeezed your shoulder with a hand. "And that's how we'll be getting back too. You'll be home soon too, though, right?"
"In a few days, when Mr. Lacitier is fully okay," you promised her. "Then I'll be back in San Fransokyo before you know it."
"Hey Mel! We're going soon!" Gisele called out.
"Coming!" Melanie gave you one more hug, and even included Hiro in the tight embrace. "Stay safe, both of you. And give Mr. Lacitier our best wishes."
"Will do. Thanks," you smiled, waving as Melanie exited your room, leaving you alone again with Hiro.
"So, (Y/N), seeing that your prom is coming up soon..." Hiro finally looked into your eyes as he let go of the embrace, his hands still on your arms. "How about we have your prom right here? We don't have to make it fancy, but we can chill out at the park tonight if you're up to it."
