Chapter 5: Rushing

 Me, Mika, and ShinShi all have gym together this semester. I stood at my locker putting my things away. "Today's a half day Miri" I heard Mika's voice. I go to close my locker. Mika was in front of my locker. She startled me a bit. I screeched and dropped my things on my foot. It hurt really bad. Mika took me to the nurse. The nurse gave me a bag of ice. She's nice to me too. I don't go into the nurse's room often. But I always see the Nurse running back and forth between classes and stampeding people to get to an injured student. Which always made me feel bad because there were always students getting hurt and in fights. Makes me feel bad for the person who lost the fight. But then again they did it to themselves.

"Hello Miri, how are you?" that's what the nurse said to me when we walked in. I told her that I was good but my foot was hurting. She gave me ice and said hi to Mika. They talked for a bit. Me and Mika picked up ShinShi from B 127 and headed to the gym outside of the school. We have gym for the first hour so everything is always a bit weird. We did our daily warm ups and our gym teacher Mr. Toshai assigned the boys Basketball and the girls VolleyBall. I'm not very athletic. But Mika was. She showed me the proper stances and what to do and not to do. There were a lot of laughs and giggles of me falling over trying to hit the ball. But it gets easier after a while. "Practice makes perfect" that's what Mika said to me while she was helping me up.

We played our first game of volleyball. There was a girl named Kaio. She was extremely athletic and very competitive. Sometimes she was kinda mean. To me anyway. But isn't that how people are on GGO? Kaio spit the ball and I hit the ball and scored. I felt proud of myself. Mika told me good job and gave me a hug. The hug felt nice. I almost didn't wanna let go of her.

The game was over. We lost by two points. Mika said it was ok because we would win next time. She made me feel better when she said that and smiled at me. After first hour Mika gave me another hug and said good job today. We had to part ways because she was having a meeting with all the class board. I watched her walk away dazzlingly. She always looked so nice walking away. the more I think about her. The more I want to spend the rest of my life with her. Besides ShinShi and Tokamora. Mika is the only friend I have. After I walked away heading to my next class I arrived at algebra. My second hour. I just really hope I get to see Mika next hour. Maybe if she isn't busy I can take her out for lunch. I hope she says yes.
