Chapter 9: Lunch With Mika

We both got in the car. Mikasu opened the door for me. It felt really nice being cared for by someone other than family. I felt really happy she accepted my invite to lunch. She asked me what I was doing before she came to get me. I told her that I wasn't really doing anything fun. I also told her how boring it was without ShinShi being there. She looked at me for a split second and smiled while turning back to look at the street. "Don't worry we'll have a fun day today ok"? She said that with a very glowing smiling face.

We got to the restaurant and Mikasu got our reservations and we sat at the table assigned to us. "This place is really nice," Mikasu said, looking at all the chandeliers and other decorative features. A boy named Keno came to our table and started taking our orders. He looked about our age but I hadn't seen him around the neighborhood or even school. Maybe he attends a different school. I told him what I wanted and Mikasu stared at me wide eyed. "Too much?" I implied with a curious smile. She looked at me and told me that it wasn't a lot. She was just surprised that I could afford stuff like this.

A waiter named Kenshi brought us our food. Mikasu felt bad because he was standing up right next to the table. She asked him for a seat and he kindly sat down. We were all talking for a while and I had a blast. It was the funnest day of my life. Making friends isn't something I do. I don't even like talking to people. We got to talk about dogs, cats, even guinea pigs. Kenshi said he had a guinea pig when he was little, But he said it died when he turned nine. He was 18 now turning 19 in a few months. He was our age. Me and Mikasu said that we were sorry and cheered him up. He stood up and told us he had to start working again. But when he was free we could call him anytime to hang out. 

We acceptingly took his number and wished him farewell. Me and Mikasu got done eating. She told me she had fun and offered to drive me home. I accepted the offer and walked outside with her. She opened the car door for me and said "after you" and giggled a little. I felt my face turn hot and red so I quickly got in the car and said "thank you". Today was the funnest day of my life and I don't regret it for anything. New friends, And an even bigger crush. I love Mikasu and I would never regret loving her. But This day is one day I wouldn't change. Not even for the world I smiled and looked out the window staring at my own reflection on the way home and said under my breath. "I love my life".
