Y/N Pov
Being in transition isn't an easy thing. But my best friend Florence has always stuck by me. My family disowned me because I wasn't comfortable in myself. So I took the chance to start my transition from female to male. I started on the testosterone hormones.
"How are you feeling today Y/N/N?" Flo asked as she walked in.
"To be honest. I am fucking nervous." I told her honestly
"You will do great Y/N." She smiled as she gave me a reassuring hug. "This is something that you have wanted forever so take it."
"You're right." I told her as she nodded in agreement.
She was the only family I really have. I remember she felt bad because she coildn't be there for my top surgery so she made sure that she had nothing this week.
"So do you have everything you need?" She asked me.
"I do." I told her as I took a nervous breath.
"Everything will be fine Y/N and I will be there with you." She said with a smile. I hugged her tight taking her by surprise.
"Thank you." I whispered tearily as she squeezed me tighter.
"You're my family Y/N." She told me. We both got in her car and she started her journey.
Florence pov
I have had a huge surprise planned since finding out that he is going through with his bottom surgery. I have had help off of both Scar and Hailee. I gave them my key to Y/N's apartment to set up a surprise for him.
I was nervous about the surgery. I know there isn't any major risks but still. When your friend is going under the knife you do have fears.
Hailee: we're almost finished with the decorations
Me: thank you guys. I appreciate it so much.
Hailee: is there anything?
Me: he's still in theatre. Should be out soon
Hailee: Lizzie is also bringing a surprise for him.
I couldn't help but smile at all of our friends have came together to support him. Even Lizzie. He is going to freak out because he has the biggest crush on her. (AN. As much as Flo is a sweetheart. Lizzie will always have my heart<3)
I honestly couldn't wait to celebrate this with him when we go home.
After a few hours we were ready to go home. He was told that there will be a little bit of pain but that is to be expected.
Y/N pov
I couldn't thank Flo enough for staying with me. The drive home was silent. I just couldn't wait to get in my own bed.
"So how do you feel?" She asked me as I smiled.
"I feel like I am me." I told her honestly. "I can be who I am without fear."
"I am so proud of you Y/N." She beamed as she pulled up into my street.
"I couldn't have done it without you Flo." I beamed at her as she parked the car. She helped me out and up to my apartment. When we opened the door, blue confetti was thrown into the air. I felt tears in my eyes as I saw everyone who supports me.
I gasped when I saw my parents. They both wore smiles on their faces and approached me first.
"It's so good to see you son." Dad said as I took a shaky breath.
"We're so proud of you Y/N." Mum said.
"Why are you here?" I asked them both.
"Well Lizzie here came and spoke some sense into us. It seems that you have a lot of people here that love you." Dad said with a bright smile.
"We want to apologise for how we left things between us. Your father and I were brought up differently but your friends here helped us see what we were doing wrong." She told me.
"I uh I can't forgive you just yet but I am willing to try again with you both." I told them as they both nodded. They pulled me in for a hug before I pulled away and approached Lizzie who was leaning against the wall watching the whole thing.
"Well?" She asked with a smile.
"Thank you." I said as I pulled her in for a hug. My arms wrapped around her waist as hers were around my neck.
"You're amazing Y/N." She whispered before she kissed my cheek. "Now lets celebrate the start of your new life."
We all conversed throughout the party and when everyone started to leave, leaving just Flo and I.
"Thank you Flo." I said as I hugged her.
"You are my best friend Y/N. I would do anything for you." She said with a smile which soon turned into a smirk. "I might even set you and Lizzie up. I'm sure Scar will help play match maker." She teased making me laugh as we both sat on the sofa.
I was happy for the first time in my life. I am who I am supposed to be. It took a long road to get here but I did.
