Chapter Title: Woeful Weekends.

The rest of the day you had spent unpacking your belongings. The room still felt a little bare. However, you will figure it out. Now the good thing about weekends. There wasn't any school and what a great idea is to wake up early and make breakfast for your family to enjoy. You took note how Aunt Laura and Uncle Tom seemed to be on edge— especially when it came to Tricia and Craig's negative responses. Specifically, Tricia. You pieced together that they were worried about something to do with you— perhaps being troublesome again. You sighed. To be frank, you don't like looking back on how you used to act. It embarrasses you quite a bit. Nevertheless, the time was five in the morning. Everyone was still asleep and you quickly went downstairs to make that breakfast.

Going into the kitchen. You checked from the pantry to see what ingredients you can make. Then again, you don't want to start a dish that was fancy— they probably think you were trying hard. You thought about a simple dish that speaks, 'togetherness'. With that you had your idea. You grabbed a few ingredients from the pantry and fridge. Readying the utensils and equipment.

The two siblings woke up at slightly different times. It was at least seven in the morning. When walking downstairs they saw their parents happily eating their breakfast. While their father was reading the newspaper.

They heard your gentle and excited voice, "You're just in time for breakfast, sleepy heads!" You placed fresh plates of cooked food.

When Tricia and Craig walked towards the table to see toast, bacon, eggs; that formed a smiley face. Along with a cup of coffee— actually it was a latte with also a smiley face.

Craig casually says, he took the fork and ate the food, "Thanks, cuz."

To your disappointment Tricia just mutters, "Yeah, whatever." While she harshly dips the knife and fork at the food.

You also sat down at the table. Aunt Laura had thanked you for cooking the delicious breakfast. Including Uncle Tom who nonchalantly also said 'thank you' without looking away from the newspaper. However, you heard Aunt Laura talked to Tricia stating, "You've barely eaten your breakfast. Y/n worked hard this morning to make this."

It felt like Tricia was harbouring a lot of emotions. You knew is was not good to bottle up negative feelings. Knowing from experience; anyone could become a ticking time bomb to explode a million barrage of words.

She wasn't talking and just staring at the plate of mashup of food. You began to talk, "Tricia—" but she beat you to it. The strawberry blonde teen's voice was a bit quiet as she murmured, "...Why?"

You weren't sure what she meant. The rest of the family listens as well before directly asking you rather a mix of frustration and upset. Her voice suddenly raised, "Why did you change?"

You averted you gaze away from Tricia's but you answered, "It's complicated—"

She groaned in frustration. Seeing that Tricia didn't understand why you changed the way you did, "It's either you do or you don't." Not everything was black and white from perspective. However, she was letting out all her emotions towards you. You.

You tried to reason with your younger cousin, "It's not easy. Please understand—"

Tricia didn't listen, "You used to be strong and cool—" when she glanced at you, she couldn't even look at you, "—now you're..." but Tricia didn't finish her sentence. She got up from her seat and stormed up to her room.
