You awaken slowly at first. All you see is darkness.
Your chest throbs, but it's barely noticeable. You allow yourself some time to come to and take inventory of possible injuries. There are none other than what you picked up on the treasure hunt.
You slowly open your eyes. You see nothing but a blinding light, forcing you to reclose your eyes.
Ok, add a hurting head to your list of injuries.
You hear a door open.
"Ms. (F/L/N), glad to see you're finally awake."
You open your eyes. This time the person's head eclipses the light, making it easier for your eyes to adjust.
You can see the white lab coat with the Absturgo emblem on the breast pocket.
They kneel beside you, so they aren't towering over.
"My name is Madeline Du Boise I'm here to help,"
You can tell now, they're a female with blond hair, styled in a pixie cut. She also wears black plastic framed glasses.
"You've gotta be kidding me," you grumble. Your tongue feels thick and wants to stick to the roof of your mouth. "Tell me something about me that Absturgo would never know. And be quick about it, I want to use my alone time for my existential dread before I have to meet whoever the frick the Grandmaster is."
She leans in and whispers in your ear. "You pushed the panic button on your phone. The Assassins know where you are."
"And if I'm not careful, so does any governmental surveillance group, and the low-tech neighborhood busybodies,"
A corner of her mouth twitches.
"How do I know I can trust you?" You say, lowering your voice.
She moves her left arm between you and her. She removes her plain-looking, leather-banded wristwatch.
Underneath is the tattoo of the Assassin's Brotherhood symbol.
"Oh boy," You whisper, then clear your throat. "That's good enough for me."
"We don't have much time, but once I leave, you'll be taken to the main office at the top of the building. Mister Poole will be there,"
You nod.
"They've been having him working at the computer since you were brought here."
"When you say working you mean-"
"Been having a gun pointed at his head the entire time."
"Riley. What have I gotten us into?" You whisper.
"The Assassin's will be here eventually. You just gotta keep the Templars busy."
"Method of extraction?"
"Helicopter."

After Madeline leaves, you do some stretching, namely to work the kinks out from how you had laid.
You're unharmed, but you're also unarmed.
When you push up your hoodie sleeves, it's odd seeing your forearm instead of a sheathed Hidden Blade, and you not getting in the shower.
From what Madeline said, Riley should be ok, You think, tracing your forearm with your fingertips. But why do I have a bad feeling about this?
The silence of your cell is what's starting to eat at you. Then there's the growing fear for Riley.
Your cell door opens, and in comes two guards in standard issue, black Absturgo fatigues, they're also wearing black armor and a black helmet.
