• chapter 11

-RED FLAG, RED FLAG!- shouted Mclaren's strategists. For a moment, life stopped around me. I just stared at the screen, tears welling up in my eyes.

- Come on, Charles. Get out.-I whispered.-Get out of that damn car!-I said this while shouting. Lando had already arrived at the box, he was watching me and the monitor.-Come on, what's up? - I was worried. After two agonizing minutes, Charles' hands reached out of the car. A huge stone fell from my heart, the feeling that something is crushing it was gone. I saw the boy hit his car and hurry into the Ferrari pit. I didn't hesitate, I rushed after him immediately. I ran into the Ferrari box, where I heard a huge door slam. One of the strategists pointed to a white door, and I thanked him with a nod, then slowly opened the door. When he heard the door open, Charles looked up angrily, then his eyes softened when he saw me. We stood still and looked at each other. I saw him suffer.

- I fucked up.-He leaned against a locker.

-No you didn'5. You can't blame yourself, okay?- I approached him.

- How could I not? I'm shit and everyone knows that!-the boy flapped his hands, as I stepped closer and took his sweaty face in my hands.

-You are the last person on this entire planet who's fault is this. And anyway, this is only the 1st practice, nothing is lost-I reassured.

-But what if that shit won't get better?- he bellowed.

-Then we'll go somewhere. We run away from the world, just the two of us. Together.-I whispered.-I will always be here for you

-I love you!-Charles said the magic word, and a huge smile appeared on my face.

We talked a little more, then Nina arrived with the shakes and hamburgers, which we ate right away.
