She squeals as she runs in the opposite direction to the snow that’s being threatened to be thrown at her, only stopping when she feels like she’s outside of his throwing distance to plead with him not to. “Ed-Eddie no please, I’m sorry” she says cautiously, her hands up in defence as she takes another step backwards in response to his step forward.

“Shoulda thought about that princess before you shoved snow down my top” Eddie taunted, taking another step towards her that had her scampering off again. Laughing at her antics as he followed her, both of them slightly slower than normal because of the snow that they were trudging through.

Once he’d caught up with her, he was quick to exact his revenge although not in the way she’d expected. Instead of throwing snow down her top just as she’d done to him, he tackled her, arms tight around her waist as she was thrown off balance which dragged him down into the snow with her. Though his quick reactions when he threw his arms out to break his fall stopped him from landing on her, even if she did end up flat on her back in the snow pouting up at him.

“Don’t look at me like that, you brought it upon yourself” he chuckled, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to her pouty lips before he rolled off her to give her enough room to sit up.

Propping herself up on her elbows she opened her mouth to reply but her words were lost when Eddie yelped, his head jerking forward slightly as a shower of snow exploded from behind his head. Whipping his head around so fast that she was worried he’d get whiplash, she followed his gaze to find Steve and Robin standing a few feet from them. It doesn’t take much to guess who threw the snowball from their respective positions as Robin is staring wide eyed at a laughing Steve.

“Oh you’re in for it Harrington” Eddie exclaims as he pushes himself up from the snow and charges at Steve. As if sensing what was going to happen Robin was quick to move out of Eddie’s path, leaving a rather confused Steve who didn’t realise until the last minute that Eddie was charging at him and only left himself seconds to get out of his way. Not deterred by Steve’s side step, once Eddie has passed him he leans down to scoop up a handful of snow, patting it into a ball shape then throwing it at Steve and catches him on the shoulder.

Laughing at the boys who now seem to be getting into a full on snowball fight, Robin joins her at the safe distance where she has now pulled herself up out of the snow. “So how’d you know we were back here?” she asked, brushing the snow still clinging to her legs off as Robin approached her.

“We could hear the two of you laughing from round the front of the trailer” She shrugs.

“But how did you know we weren’t doing anything else?” she teases, nudging Robin as she giggled at the disgusted look that flitted across her face.

“In the snow, really? Are you not worried about frostbite?” Robin shoots back, unable to stop her own laughter at the thought. Though the laughter from the two of them is short lived when in quick succession she gets hit square in the face with a snowball which makes her eyes water and Robin who gets hit in the chest which leaves her winded for a second but when they eventually recover they hear the boys laughter before they see them.

With one look to Robin it seemed they silently agreed to get the boys back and as they bent down to scoop up their own snow to make their own ammo, she could’ve sworn she heard Eddie let out a quiet ‘oh shit’ when they did which made her smile, they were in for it now.

They only got one hit in each before the boys jumped back into action, making and throwing more snowballs at them, at each other as they all joined in on the snowball fight this time. All that could be heard was their laughter, their gasps and yells when they got hit and it was all fun and games until Eddie was hit with a snowball that was a little different to the others.

“God damnit there was definitely a bit of ice in that one” he yells, making all heads turn his way and upon seeing the grimace on his face the remaining snowballs were dropped as they all made their way to him to check that he was okay. “That hurt like a bitch but thank god for the padding” Eddie sighed, a small smile on his face as he motioned to the layers that he had on under his jacket as he reassured the others he was okay.

“How about we head inside, get warm” she suggested, feeling the chill biting into her skin now that her layers of clothes were damp from her time in the snow and that they were no longer moving to keep warm. When they all agreed, Eddie linked his hand with hers as they trudged back through the snow to the front of the trailer where they kicked off their boots by the door so as not to trample in the snow. They shrugged off their wet coats once they were inside and all huddled on the couch together under a couple of spare blankets Eddie had managed to find with a movie playing on the tv as they warmed up after an afternoon of fun that they would all look back on fondly in years to come.
