You knelt down in front of the wooden cross and put your hands together to pray. Until Micah showed up.
"Really? You made a cross for the bastard?"
You tried your best to ignore him and continued your prayer.
"The Lord bless him and keep him." You whispered under your breath.
"You only knew him for a couple of weeks." He said, walking up behind you.
"The Lord make His face to shine upon him and be gracious to him."
"He had a gun aimed at you!"
"The Lord lift up His countenance upon him and give him peace. Amen."
"You'd rather spend time with a dead man than your own husband?"
You got up and turned to him before responding.
"Don't you dare call yourself my husband when you haven't even earned the right for such a title."
"Y/N, can't you see? He wanted more than just your friendship. He was trying to take you away from me!"
"And so what if he was? I would've rather that happen than to see him be killed!"
"You don't mean that-"
"Yes, I do. Now, are you gonna shut up and ride back to camp with me or are you gonna stay here and sulk?"
"Y/N..."
"Nevermind, you don't even have to answer that. You can stay here."
You got on your horse and left him standing in the middle of the field.
