The Duchess of Dances

As the ball started me and Val had just been awaiting something exciting to happen, but we both knew nothing exciting would happen. The whole day went by

It had already started to get dark out, nothing exciting had happened so far.

"Princess?" Prince Calub had said, standing in front of me,

"Which one..idiot." Val mumbled,

"Val-" I was saying before getting cut off by the Prince

"Princess Jeannette, can you accompany me outside?"Prince Calub said,

"Oh ? Um.. Sure" I replied, getting up from my throne,

"Val you coming?"I asked,

"No I'm gonna just wait," Val said,

"Wa-" I was saying until I was dragged away,

"Why'd you take me out here?" I questioned,

"You seemed to be bored," Prince Calub said,

"Pfft- I was, thanks," I said,

"The stars are so amazing, don't you think?" Prince Calub said looking up at the stars with his green eyes,

"I love the quiet.. it's so peaceful," I said,

"You're gonna be queen soon, how is it?" Prince Calub asked,

"You're supposed to be king soon too, aren't you?" I asked,

"Yeah-" he started to say when we heard a loud noise coming from inside.

"Hey!! Unless you're midway to solving world peace get over here!!" Val shouted at us as she gestured us to come inside. "I can not believe you left me alone in here!" Val said as she grabbed my arm.

"We were just looking at the stars, Val I was about to go drag you out here with me, right Prince Calub?" I said,

"Uhh- Yeah, right" Prince Calub replied,

"Thank god!! They're about to start the dancing and I need you to make sure no one asks me! Thank you!" Val said as she grabbed my arm more firmly than the first time

"Hey wai-" I was saying before getting cut off by Val dragging me away, "You two are dragging me back and forth," I said,

"Well I'm sorry but while you were away my mom said she wanted to 'talk to me about something of great importance". You are the only thing that can stop her from interacting with me for the rest of the night unless I'm talking to a guy which let's face it, won't happen in a million years because all guys of monarchy are stupid and pompous, and egotistical!" Val said as she drank a glass of water as if we'd been living in a barren desert for the last 4 years.

"What if.. I got a boy to talk to you?" I asked,

"Did you not just hear what I said about monarchy boys?" Val said as she looked at me as if I told her unicorns were real.

"It wouldn't hurt to make a friend, you could make friends with Prince Calub"I said, knowing Val wouldn't talk to one of those boys if her life depended on it,

"Hey? Maybe I can help" Prince Calub said, taking hold of my hand,

"With what? Killing myself? Okay you get the rope! I'll be in the bathroom!" Val said as she tried to walk away.

"I know a way you can sneak out of here when they are all dancing" Prince Calub said,

"Not possible, my mom scans the room looking for me every 5 minutes since I snuck out of my 5th birthday party." Val said as she pointed behind her, with her mom looking to make sure her daughter hadn't run off to become anything other than a lady.

"If I ask your mother to dance, she would be distracted, or maybe even tired enough to notice you're not gone" Prince Calub said,

"You are absolutely insane if you think my mom'll dance with you!" Val said as she pointed at Prince Calub

"She's the one who taught me to dance" Prince Calub said,

"Tia did what?!"I questioned,

"Say that one more time," Val said to Calub as she turned around to look at her mother.

"Just wait, I can ask her right now. Watch" Prince Calub said walking up to her mother

"No. I am going to get out of here and I DO NOT care if she notices or not." Val said as she walked out into the hallway leading to our bedrooms.

"V-" my tia was about to say Val's name until Prince Calub walked up to her and said

"Hi, Gloria!" Prince Calub said,

"Oh, hello, Prince Calub" My tia said,

"Everyone is dancing, would you like to dance with me, Gloria?" Prince Calub asked,

"Shouldn't you be asking my niece?"My tia asked,

"Hm?" I said confused tilting my head back up to see the look on Prince Calub's face, red like a tomato,

"I- Princess, would you like to dance with me?" Prince Calub said, holding out his hand to me,

"Uhm- I can't dance," I said,

"Sure you can, I've seen you dance twice with my daughter Valentina," my tia said,

"How bout you prove to me you can dance, Princess" Prince Calub whispered into my ear

I took up his challenge, and we began to dance together. It went from us dancing to us just messing around.

We were dancing until there was a loud crashing noise coming from the far side of the castle,

"I- Uhm I got to go" Me and Prince Calub both said, running off in two different directions.
