"We just have to get back, take the crown back, kill Merella, and then you and I can go back to our mission" I said to Jen as we walked through the last stretch of the forest.

"What mission?" Prince Calub asked as he walked aside us

"As I rolled my eyes Jen answered in the most innocent way possible to try to steer him away from being a snoop.

"Oh it's nothing, besides we should focus on Morella." Jen said as she began to walk a little faster

"If your 'mission' is happening in my kingdom I have a right to know." Prince Calub said as he walked aside from Jen.

"Well, its none of your business." I said,

Jen noticed the sense of rudeness in my voice and nudged me.

"Que? He is doing a horrible job at protecting our kingdom so we have to do it for him." I whispered to Jen

"He's not doing a horrible job, just not succeeding. You can't expect them to know too much about magic, there are very few magical people left, none in Sol." Jen whispered back as she looked at the kingdom in the distance. "Lavanda look! It's our favorite time!!" Jen said as she began to climb a tree all the way to the top." as I followed her Prince Calub looked around questioning what was so special.

"What are you looking for?" he shouted from down below

"Nothing you should concern yourself with." Jen yelled back as she giggled. We sat on too large tree branches as we saw the sun coming up.

"El amanecer es tan hermoso como siempre." I whispered under my breath as I saw the sunlight shining off of every window and lantern in the kingdom.

"Yeah, it is as beautiful as ever," Jen said as we watched the sun glimmer off of the massive stained glass window on the palace. As we jumped down from the tree we continued walking, barely saying a word, each of us in our own train of thought. Just then as we were getting close to the kingdom the Earth beneath us began to shake.

"What is that?"The prince said grabbing onto Jen's hand,

"See what I mean he can't protect his own kingdom. He's grabbing onto someone he just met!"I said,

"Your whispering skills are terrible."Prince Calub said

"And your protecting skills are just as bad."I mumbled

"What're you being such a jerk for? I haven't done anything to you."Prince Calub questioned

"You talk big game about becoming king but fail to protect your kingdom, you treat others as if they have to listen to you, you are like every other guy in any monarchy, WE know how to fight these things and are cast aside. I am DONE hiding, especially to those of the likes of you." Val said as she whipped Shadow monsters back into the ground

"You don't even know me" Prince Calub said

"I know your parents want to take over the Mendez side of the throne!" Val said as she faced Prince Calub

"Why do you care?" Prince Calub questioned,

"Because it means the world to someone extremely important in my life, to be able to keep that one last bit of someone they loved! I am not letting your family or anyone else take that away from them! So I am going to the castle and I am going to make Merella pay!" Val said as she headed toward the castle

"Wait!" I shouted running after Val

"Wait so you know the princess.. personally?"Prince Calub questioned, also chasing after Val

"The only person in the Mendez family that's missing someone they love is her, her father died.." Prince Calub said,

Val looked at me, "Yeah he did, and I was there for her, I saw how she fell apart. I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure she never has to feel like that again. She has been there for me more than my own family, she deserves better than that."

"So I was right.. You are Val" Prince Calub said,

"Please I would rather die than be a princess." Val said scoffing and turning back toward the castle

"Really? You don't want to be a princess, yet you are. You're Val" Prince Calub said,

"YOU TWO SHUT UP AND LOOK!!" I shouted as I pointed toward the castle, as a glooming gray came over it, the mural was cracked and all the houses in the village were gray and black with dead trees and dark clouds

"What happened..?!" Prince Calub questioned,

"Merella" Val said, "Azul I think we're close enough for the travel spell." Val said, turning toward me.

"Let's go then."I said

"Wait.. if you're val.. Who's she ?"Prince Calub questioned,

"I'm not Val!" Val said as she stomped on his foot and turned back toward me.

"Really? So you aren't the soon-to-be queen's cousin?I find that hard to believe."Prince Calub said

"You're forgetting that the Mendez family regularly goes into town and the princess goes there when she doesn't have studies, now do you want to get to the castle or not, grab Azul's hand." Val said

"Let's get to the castle then. If you aren't Val. How were you there for her when she broke down?"Prince Calub said,

"You really think her mom would keep her from her best friend after her dad died? She isn't that bad, jeez." Val said, looking at me, "Azul, look for the spell please." she said to me while grabbing some sage from her bag. "Hold that will ya royal pain?" she said, handing it to Calub.

As Pince Calub held the sage Val used a spell to smoke it. "Why are you doing that?" Prince Calub asked as he watched the burning sage.

"It keeps off bad spirits, I don't want to accidently transport some extra Shadows into the same room as us. We'd be ambushed." Val said as I showed her the spell. As we did our hand motions the Prince looked at us confused, then we closed our eyes, took a deep breath and opened them.

"Viajar" we both said as our eyes glowed, I took Calub's hand so he could come with us, and before we knew it, we were in the library.
