Hiro and Mei departed off of the bus, tightly holding their few items with them. With frazzled hair they walked over to a small motel, checking in for a night.
They had gotten off of their final bus at a small town, one a couple of states away. For now they would hang out here, until they moved once again.

~They finished checking into their room, and now stood in the lobby of the motel.
"I'm going to look for some work." Hiro stated. "Could you go and get us some food?"
"Of course." Mei nodded. "How will we contact each other? We threw our phones out."
Hiro wanted there to be no trail left behind. He was not going to let Yanemi track him through their devices.
"Let's meet back here in two hours." Hiro stated. "At Six. Does that work?"
"Yes." Mei nodded. "Then I shall go find us something."
The two left the hotel and moved their separate ways. Hiro walked through the town, looking at the buildings. He didn't see any signs for hiring, but he also found himself looking at more than that.
The old style of the town...was beautiful. It was part of the reason why Hiro had always wanted to come to America. The music, the atmosphere, he was fascinated by all of it. It was just so...different than in Japan.
He never imagined he would come here under the circumstances that he did five years ago. Escaping from a real life anime trope. And escaping with one.
Hiro could leave right now. He could take another bus and leave Mei behind. But while she may have been a yandere, she still respected his boundaries. They hadn't touched, despite Hiro knowing how deeply in love she was with him.
He still remembered.
He still hated.
A sudden tap on his shoulder made him suddenly jerk and turn around in surprise, only to see an American woman behind him.
"Hey...you alright?" She asked.
"Y-yeah...I'm fine." Hiro replied. "Just...looking to see if there were any jobs around."
"I think Old Man Dave needed someone..." The woman thought to herself.
"Perfect. Could I see him?" Hiro wondered.
"Yes, but first..." The woman spoke. "Are you sure that's all? You were shaking before I got your attention."
"I was?" Hiro blinked at her in surprise. "Sorry...just remembered a bad memory."
"Would you like to talk about it?" The woman asked.
"No...not really..." Hiro rubbed his arm. He inconspicuously shuffled a step away from her.
"Thats fine. I am some random stranger after all." Chuckled the woman. "When I don't want to talk about something, I write my thoughts down."
She pulled out a notebook. "All in here. Helps to get them out of the system. And sometimes it even gives me ideas for future stories."
