it's around 9:50am now and i'm finished getting ready. i'm sitting on my couch, watching tv when a knock echos.

i get up and walk over. opening the door, i reveal the brunette haired girl and a crap ton of clear bins that are packed with things.

i widen my eyes and hear her laugh. i blink my eyes multiple times to ensure i'm seeing this right.

"you said you'd keep it basic..."

she looks behind her at the boxes then back at me, confused.

"is this not basic?", she questions, "okay maybe your world and my world have different definitions of basic."

i widen my eyes and nod, letting out a breathy laugh, "oh yeah...definitely."

"oh well!", she grins, "help me bring them in?"

i clear my throat and gulp, walking out of my apartment. i start carrying boxes into my living room. when the final box is placed down, she looks over at me.

"alright we'll do decorating later tonight. we have a full day ahead!", she exclaims, happily.

i glance at her, concerned on what's happening. she smiles at me, knowing i'm nervous. she lets out a breath and places her hand on my arm.

"lighten up a little...open your mind...have fun.", she says, "oh and...i have a surprise."

"what is it?"

she pulls out a small glass bottle, the size of her index finger. it holds red liquid in it and i look at it with suspicion.

"this is...a drink that'll make me visible.", she smiles.

i widen my eyes, "woah what?"

"i'll be visible to everyone in the public...it'll make today go easier.", she smiles, opening the top, "and prove to you i'm...real?"

she dumps it in her mouth and swallows. she cringes at the taste and i laugh. there's more white sparkles falling around her and then she coughs a little.

"okay...i think it worked.", she says.

i shrug, "guess we'll find out."

i put shoes on and then we exit my apartment. we're walking down the hall and my neighbor appears, walking out of the elevator.

"found a girl?", he jokes, chuckling.

i see nini's lips press together and she looks up at me. i awkwardly lick my lips quickly and shake my head.

"just friends.", i reply.

i let out a quiet breath and we make our way to the elevators. the door shuts and i look at her.

i guess it works.", i chuckle and she nods in agreement.

when we arrive in the lobby, we get into my car and i look over at her for directions.

"where are we going?"

"go downtown.", she tells me as i start the engine.

she reaches her hand out and changes the radio to the christmas station. i slightly groan and she playfully smacks my arm.

it's all part of the fun.", she tells me.

we drive for another twenty-ish minutes, listening to the carols play on the speakers. nini gives me directions and i parallel park downtown. it's all decorated for christmas. the street light poles have garland twirling all the way to the top. in the middle of downtown, a huge christmas tree is decorated and has a sparkly star topper. an ice rink is below it as people of all ages skate around the circle.
concession stands are set up and kids are playing in snow.

we get out of the car and i let out a breath, the hot air showing in the cold weather. nini walks around the car and looks at me with a smile.

"ready?", she asks.
